Went there to buy layer cake, also bought the Marble Butter Cake, I asked whether is it freshly baked, the old lady replied yes. So I bought 1 original layer cake, 1 orange layer cake & 1 marble butter cake. Totally disappointed, the marble butter cake taste no butter, no butter aroma and it is not fresh. The orange layer cake also hardly got the orange taste, again disappointed. Only the original layer cake taste a bit better than the rest. Totally disappointed, I think those cakes found in the night market is far better than this cake house. Haih... I was looking forward to have a good cake but felt like fall into the black hole.

We decided to get a cake from Sunflower Homemade Cakes after our breakfast in Tanjung Bungah area. This cute little bakery is located in Double Spoon. The place is beautifully decorated with plants and flowers. The inside of the bakery is so cute and has a few varieties of cakes and cookies on display. We decided to get the Walnut Coffee Cake for an early birthday celebration. The cake is so fresh and delicious! They were very generous with the chopped walnuts and the buttercream icing tasted amazing, full of coffee flavour. Every bite was a delightful one. Yummylicious!

Not even a bit of cheese taste at all. The layer of chocolate sponge was minimal in comparison to the amount of "cream cheese". Even the biscuit layer at the bottom is not fragrant just bland. Very disappointing. Layer cakes here are good! That's why we expected the birthday cake to taste as good.

I'm from KL and my hubby is in Penang for work, so I asked him to go over to your shop, provided him with directions, etc. He went over around 3.30pm today and was told that he could not purchase the cakes from the shop instead he had to go online to order. Is this a new policy, that you do not accept walk ins and cakes can only be purchased online? IF so, you should make it clear on your website. I love your cakes and so I coaxed my hubby to make a trip to your shop but he was NOT ALLOWED to buy ANY even though there were cakes on display and available for sale. Further he told me the lady who attended to him was very rude. I am very disappointed, during times like this I would think you would welcome and serve customers and not turn them away. so so sad. My husband told me HE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK to you your shop....

I wasn't expecting it but when I ate their cheesecake, memories from my childhood when I used to buy their cheesecake and ate it at Komtar flooded back. I really have forgotten about this cheesecake and this business brought the moment back. This is how original the cheese cake was! I honestly have completely forgotten that time when I was in Form 3, I would buy their cheesecake and quickly ate them somewhere in Komtar (Popular bookstore) before going home to avoid getting scolded.

Thank you for bringing that moment back. I wasn't expecting it but that shows how you guys...
