Nice, if somewhat unremarkable, milk tarts probably worthy of 3.5 stars.
I received a box as a gift so can’t comment on the shop itself.
The tarts look very well made and the box was lovely presentation. The filling was nice and smooth though could have been a bit more bold in flavour. The pastry was buttery and crumbly… actually a little too crumbly. Be careful when handling as they can easily break apart and you’ll be left with filling dripping down your hands. The blueberry with gold leaf was a nice touch aesthetically but brought very little to the eating. I found the little cardboard Furanco labels on each tart somewhat annoying. They seem to serve no real purpose other than to make the tarts more Instagrammable. I’m a firm believer that everything you put on a pastry like this should be edible.
If I’m in the area, I’d be interested in trying more of their products, though I wouldn’t go out of my...
Read moreI've returned over and over again for their lovely tarts. My personal favourites are the milk tarts (they're milky, smell so nice, and make really good gifts too), blueberry tart (surprising combo of taste) and chocolate tart rich and chocolatey). The genmaicha and french lemon cheese tarts aren't too bad either. I've tried them all, except for the matcha tart, they look too green 😅
The matcha opera sliced cake was so-so, I would recommend sticking to the tarts. The taro chiffon cake also wasn't for me, not too sure about the taro and meat floss combination. As for the scones, because I only ate it after having it sit around for hours, I wouldn't comment on it. Takeaway...
Read moreIf you are a fan of French tarte and madeleine, then yes you're at the right patisserie shop. I love how they decorated the tartes and éclairs, with edible flowers and herbs, they were simply so quaint and attractive to the point I couldn't bear to eat them. The blueberry and strawberry tartes are worth trying as the fruits are fresh and sweet, and I am simply happy with the fact that the lemon tart is not that sour( I am not the fan of sour sweets) just a hint of lemony, refreshing taste of lemon is just right.
Don't recommend to keep them for more than 2 days
I won't include photos though, I forgot to take them. There are better photos from...
