Luigi Pizzeria Penang — Restaurant in George Town

I always drive pass this small pizza shop and finally last night I managed to give it a try.

I went in, placed my order and immediately regretted cos the boss(I think his the boss) doesn't look very friendly nor welcoming.

So I have to wait for 10min according to the worker for my take away pizza.

I don't know what to order, so I ordered the hawaiian pizza, I heard that Italian hate it when you put pineapple on the pizza, is it cos I ordered hawaiian thats why the boss is not so friendly??

I do not like pizza. I do not like cheese. Somehow, this place has changed that. Very quiet and cozy location on the corner, staff are amazing, but the space is as expected very small and kind of cramped, but to me it adds to the whole charm of it. The actual food? I have not been to Italy and had "real" pizza to be a judge of authenticity, but I can tell you my very full belly was happy last night. Had the Potato pizza and the burratina. Both were an absolute delight, and i think came with a justified price. I have been told fresh burrata is nearly impossible to find here, and that burratina had an absolutely amazing, fresh tasting ball of burrata. Would recommend. Maybe get a small group...

A pizzeria which offers the best, authentic Italian pizza in Penang- the flavour and texture of the pizza is here is very close to the ones I’ve tasted in Italy!

The tomato sauce acted as a nice base for the pizza and was well spread throughout which balanced well with the salami on top. Crust on the pizza was light but wish it was a little puffier. The pizza itself is thin crusted which makes it even more addictive!

Tried the caprese salad (not in picture) but thought it needed more seasoning and they could use a juicier tomato to pair better with the cheese.

Service is friendly and engaging.
