The restaurant setup is simple furnishing with almost no decor. A QR code menu & ordering system access from your mobile is available & might appeal to youngsters. However, manual ordering is also available which is helpful to seniors. Some dishes were sold out!! Crowded during lunch hour. We selected the Japanese curry prawn rice & fried dark sauce siuyuk rice. The Jap curry rice was good but the fried dark sauce siuyuk rice was so so. The heavy lunch crowd had compromised the service as you've to wait patiently. Payment also had a Q. The prices are on the high side considering it being "fast food" setting.

20 July 2024 Writing this review though not my first time here. My wife & I ate the Siuyuk Spring Noodles soup, Signature Siuyuk rice, and Ais Kachang. Both the dishes were tasty, not fantastic. The Ais Kachang stood out with lots of ingredients & a bit of ice cream. Perhaps, the chef is trying to create an identity for this dessert. Good try. What made our day was a very friendly lady boss who served & chit chat with us. Treated us to 2 sticks of ice cream.

19 Aug 2024 Fried dark sauce Siuyuk porridge - - be careful of the dried chilli - it's real hot!! The dish is okay, nothing great. Nasi Lemak with fried chicken. The sambal is good & the chicken is fried well. More santan (coconut milk) will enhance the rice aroma. Nice dish!

19 Oct 2024 The spicy & sour soup with grouper fish fillet, and the chicken chop are both nice & delicious. Only the chicken chop sauce is slightly saltish for me.

13 Dec 2024 Today, we ate the Siuyuk Spring noodles soup and the Signature Siuyuk rice. Both very nice. The roasted pork was very crispy: not too fat, not too lean. We enjoyed our lunch....

Disclaimer: They offered me a free ice cream if I gave a review (but this in no way affects my review as I’ve come here many times without disappointment! 👍🏻)

FOOD: The food here is honestly so yummy—as well as being at a reasonable price! If you haven’t been here I suggest you remember adding the option for a free Assam soup—honestly the best tasting Assam I’ve had! (You can see the picture I took, look at how thick the soup is) Bursting with flavours, such a nice accompaniment to your main dish. I’ve tried a few of their dishes, but my go-to is always the siew yuk wantan noodles. The wantan soup is yummy as well and they give you lots of soup. All around just a really good eatery with delicious options. I have yet to try an item that isn’t packed full of flavours.

SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Pretty straightforward restaurant. Service is quick and food comes quickly too, even at peak hours. Tables are appropriately spaced and sufficiently cooling—except if you sit at the corner table near the beverage counter.

PETS: YES, it is pet friendly! If you’ve ever seen any of my other reviews you know that I absolutely love when eateries open up to our furry friends too! As long as your pet is in a stroller, feel free to have them tag along! ❤️

PARKING: Plenty of parking as it is located in Island Plaza. So if you can’t find a spot out front, there’s plenty of parking spaces in the basement. Convenient as.

TLDR: Highly recommended ⭐️ One of my all-time stops for...

Been there last week. It was peak lunch service and the restaurant was packed with peoples. Smooth checked in with only about 10 minutes wait. Ambience was buzzing as it was peak hour. The highlight of my review is the service charge 10% included in the bill...... 1.Once we seated we been ask to scan QR code for menu and order online which we understood nowadays trend, in order to cut labour cost and more efficient ordering system. 2.After we finished our meal we took our ordering list and queuing up at the counter to settle our bill. So here the conclusion of our experience in Aunty Q Island Plaza....... From arriving till we finished our meal and settled our bill....... The only service that we received was server served our food and drink, there was no order service was provided in between whatsoever. And hence 10% service charge was included in the bill (in our case was rm17.60 service charge included in the bill). Just bear in mind that I'm not against any service charge included in the bill if that restaurant really provide a proper service. We not expected anything from Aunty Q from the beginning as we know it was a canteen style restaurant but with the service charge 10%........To be honest i will think twice going back at anytime soon. Last but not least....... Food was good and worth the price. I hope management will take my feedback on board as a genuine...

Aunty Q Restaurant offers a wide variety of local favourites, making it a popular choice for casual dining. One of their top recommendations is the roasted pork, which I found to be decent—leaner than expected, with a more meaty profile and not overly greasy or fatty. While some might prefer a crispier texture or more fat, it was still satisfying. Their fried rice stands out with great flavour and wok hei, making it one of the more enjoyable dishes on the menu. I also liked the fried fish noodles, which had a good balance of sour and salty notes that brought out the taste of the broth nicely. However, not everything hits the mark. The dry kuey teow left a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste, possibly due to improperly washed noodles. Another letdown was the pork meat soup, which was unfortunately undercooked and had pieces of pork that were still raw—a definite concern for diners. On a brighter note, Aunty Q serves excellent coffee. It tastes freshly brewed, thick, and aromatic, and pairs well with the food offerings. Despite some inconsistency in quality, the variety available makes Aunty Q worth a visit, especially for those who enjoy exploring different local dishes.
