Had the worst experience on 24/8/25. I was alone with my 10-year-son and 11-year-old daughter and went to use the toilet. As my son is still a child, he came into the female toilet with me. When he was washing his hands, he was stopped by a female, Indian lady who was wearing an Island 88 badge and asked if he was male. She said she was from customer service. I said yes, he's my son and he's 10 years old. She said he's not allowed into the female toilet. I told her that I was alone with them and did not feel comfortable sending him into the adult male toilet alone. In a very rude manner, she said he was 10 and needed to use the male toilet himself. I asked her, what happens if an adult male there does something to my son. There would be no one there to help him. She said the mall staff would "obviously know". I asked how? Did they have CCTV in the toilets and were they monitoring them all the time? She then asked why I was at the mall. I said to shop (and now I'm wondering why that question was even asked). She changed the subject and asked if my son goes to the female toilet in school. I said in school, adult males don't use the kids' toilet. She proceeded to take out her phone to which I asked her if she was going to take a photo of my child. She quickly put the phone down and said she hadn't taken anything. She said she would report the incident to the management. I said let's go now, I'll be happy to see if it's a policy that Island 88 makes children go to the toilet without their parents. She said the management wasn't here as it was a Sunday. I proceeded to ask her if that was my fault. I told her I'd be reporting this myself and be making a complaint. What I want to know is this: Is it Island 88's policy that male children under the age of 12 be forced to go unsupervised to the toilet...

Not much there! That was 4 yrs ago!!! Now, it's new HK owner is doing much justice to this mall! The toilets are renovated bright and nice! 👍 New eateries are taking root there. Frequented 7 Village that serves tasty noodles and reasonably priced good portions choisum, etc Love their extended extra seating place👍 Ipoh Onn Kee Tauge Ayam another yummy place, esp the Bearded Chicken and Chicken feet! Though their Romaine Lettuce is rather pricey for a small serving. Some dishes are always Out of Stock🤔 Need better and more seating as the big pipe that runs along the upper wall drips water on to the table and the vent tube is very noisy when it's on 🤔 Looking forward to CoffeeBean that's under reno now and the 'Opening Soon' pork bbq place. If you need a quiet place away from the main flow of traffic, try Miraki down...

Restaurants there are good but the parking in the building especially the basement parking rates are horrible. They don't go according to the sign board written on it. They charge according to likes. I was there two times and charged differently. Mon-Fri $2.00 per entry, Sat-Sun $2.50 per entry. That's what the parking entry board said. I parked there on Sunday knowing it said that. Totally I parked there for 3 hours and I have to pay RM3, why? Parking staff said it charged by hourly and after 6pm then only RM2.50per entry. I was there 3pm yesterday. So if you guys wants to go to Island Plaza for food, better find somewhere to park your car or...

This mall used to be a bustling place, but now it’s just sad and disappointing. Left empty for years, the new owner has not managed to revamp it. Not disabled-friendly at all — the main entrance has only stairs, and even between the mall and residence lifts there are more stairs. Wheelchair users have to go all the way around just to find another lift. Most shops are closed and only open by appointment. There are new café on the ground floor but nothing exciting. The toilets are dirty and smelly, I couldn’t even stand a few minutes inside. Overall, the place looks lifeless. Unless big changes are made to attract shoppers, I feel it may close down again soon.
