Luxfort 118 Service Suites — Hotel in George Town

I can't give this hotel a high score simply because it didn't fulfill the one box you gotta tick when you're looking for hotels: comfort. We had the double-room something something (I can't be bothered to remember the name) which is basically a studio with a separate room. The separate room is big and have windows. But the apartment is just so dusty. Since I have asthma, I nearly contracted a fever by staying in the place for over 8 hours. Instead, I had a headache and a cold the next day. I ended up going home after 14 hours instead of staying the full 2 days. Edit: I want to reiterate that only my family members who had asthma left. The rest of us who are blessed with healthy lungs did not complain of the same ordeal. So they stayed the whole duration. I don't mean to tarnish this hotel's reputation but I also want to stay as honest as possible. Ona different note, the place is equipped with a functional kitchen, that has everything but a food mixer (because let's be real, who cooks elaborate meals on a holiday? Oh. My mom.) And there's a washing machine AND a dryer. And an ironing board installed in the room. The tv channels are limited because of astro enjoi. Eyeroll On the plus side, the pool is great! Went to Penang for foodie holiday - Penang was ok.||We booked a King suite for eight nights through QANTAS for a “Great Price”. ||We were upgraded” to 2BR studio - which included a bedroom with King Bed. ||There was a shower/WC with threadbare towels and no towel rails and needed a good clean.||The main room had an extra king bed, minimal kitchen (fridge, crockery/cutlery for four, and five cooking utensils) washer/dryer, TV (no english). WiFi barely worked and dropped out. We used our own mainly. The room was noisy - could hear people walking down corridor and banging around next door.||There was no hot water over the kitchen sink or bathroom basin.||An outdoor swimming pool was on fifth floor. Cleaned once a week apparently. I doubt that, with silt and debris on the floor when we arrived and when we left.||The building had good restaurants and supermarket. The building had security, but the rooms are NOT as depicted on website.|| It’s not a place to be able to sit and relax/chill after a long day sightseeing. There are MUCH better options. Nice place all in all but there were a few things which could be better. I'll list some prod and cons. Pro: This apartment is part of a main building which is a small. Therefore,, it is very convenient if you need/want to buy something quickly because it would just be downstairs. They provide a parking card BUT you need to inform them ahead of time (perhaps a remark during booking or something), (2 bedroom studio apartment) the room is okay cozy, has a basic kitchen with a fridge and induction stove, towels are provided and the rooms are cleaned at some days. Con: There is a kitchen but the utensils provided weren't too many and were great. As in, the knife was those cheap and blunt ones, and they only provided 1. There's also no rubber/silicon spatula, and the non-stick pan was scratched up and the bathroom water system is leaking and therefore made dripping sounds throughout the night which could be bothersome to those...
