The Bungalow At Lone Pine Hotel — Restaurant in George Town

The ambience and decor of the restaurant indoor and outdoor was great and would have been even better if mosquito control was effective. Communication with the restaurant staff during reservation and food ordering was challenging. Despite having reserved a table days ahead, many items on the menu were said to have run out. Of the remaining few choices, starters were brought to our table either at the same time or even after main courses were served. The fish in the fish and chips dish was cold and done in very thick and browned bread crumbs. I took mine home to throw away. Was the chef away that evening? Who prepared our meals? Have never had such poor quality food in all our 5 years living in Penang. Kids menu bolognese was a bit spicy and sweet like cooked with Maggi Chilli and Tomoato Sauce. Was rather surprised so we returned it.The replacement Kids menu Cabonara must be from a can (the sauce). Can’t even give a score for kids menu. Croutons on the pasta (?). Char kway teow 2/10. One of the worst CKT I ever had. Chicken satay was ok 5/10. Hainanese chicken chop was deep fried tasteless piece of chicken with semi decent fries. I don't usually post bad reviews if there was a good reason for the bad service but truly this was one of the worst dining experiences in my life.

They forgot our very first order and only realised after 40 mins. The difference in time between the 1st dish served and the last dish served was 45 mins. And only after an hour we ordered, they inform us that they had ran out of one of the main course dishes.

Highly discourage anyone from ever trying...
