My partner and I accidentally found this seafood food stall when back to 11st Nov 2022 during our stay in Lone Pine hotel. That night actually I plan to go other cafe in Batu Ferrignhi but so happen raining heavily and we don’t feel like driving at all. And I saw this food stall during Google search. A lot of bad comments but we decided to give it a try since is nearby.
We have been told they only serve seafood, no chicken and taufu. It’s totally fine for us as we love to eat seafood. And somehow I don’t understand why people keep complaining the attitude is bad and only serve seafood. Batu ferringhi is one of the famous tourist spot in Penang and it’s by seaside. What are you expect from a seafood food stall actually? If you like to eat chicken, you can walk over to McDonald’s or other mamak stall.
We ordered Hong king style steam fish, fried sotong, steam clam with garlic and cili and butter prawn. when ordering, the lady boss will recommend what is the catch of the day from sea and so on. Please listen to them and you will enjoy the dinner happily. We are from Penang but this is our first try. As we never thought that the price of food stall at tourist spot is reasonable and food is tasty. We loves to eat and tried out many choo char food stall in Penang, and honestly, this shop we rank it top 1 among all stalls. Chief is skillfull and friendly, seafood fresh and tasty. 🤩🐟😋
Oh ya, about the drinks, the short hair lady boss recommend us, handmade milk tea by her.. taste good and price is reasonable. She normally don’t serve the drinks especially peak hours and also depend on her mood. After the first visit to the store, we keep coming back to this food stall and also bring along our family members and all of us feel great every time we came here.
Friendly reminder: please bring along mosquitoes repellent, or else your dinner will go wrong.😆 You should...
Read moreVery seldom do I post a one star, as that’s something we do not do lightly without due consideration of the impact to the business. However, it was the unanimous collective view of my family who dined there on the night which determined the verdict of our experience. It was our first dinner at Penang on our first day of holiday, and the positive online review drew us there among the plethora of choices. The stall is on the roadside on a sloping terrain so beware of tripping hazard from parking to the restaurant along the street. We ordered several of the local seafood dishes but to our disappointment, we found not only the subpar poor customer services from the female staff, but the taste were also quite ordinary as compared to those in KL. We did have high expectations going there from the reviews, so may have been let down by this pre conceived notion.. Judging by the general positive reviews, hopefully it was just an off night by the chef combined with the off night by the service staff which may be a once off rather than the norm. Sadly we won’t be back to try...
Read moreSteam pomfret was outstanding. Simple wuth only soy sauce but taste great. Fish was fresh. Every angle just nice and not overcooked. The sauce a bit too salty to my liking. RM56 per fish was value for money. 4 stars
Steam white prawn was excellent. So addictive. Sauce was so good. 5 stars
Star of the night was the stir fried vege. Never can we imagine that the vege can be fried so well. The sauce was so wonderfully made and great compliment to our rice. We finished the last drop of the rice. 5 stars
Total bill for the seafood dinner at RM110. Valye for money. Serving within 20 minutes upon ordering. But, the cons was that the seller was quite rude to reject my extra order. They don't allow additional order after they took your first order.
Nearby durian seller keep on smoking but the restaurant server didn't advise them to keep a distance from restaurant seating
