Absolutely Terrible Experience at Carabao Restaurant
I recently visited Carabao Restaurant (Puteri Harbour), and I must say, it was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've ever had. I came with my family, about 20pax of us. When we arrived, and after some time waiting, an employee named Eko kindly showed us to our table. We sat there and were browsing over the menu. We thought we were finally going to enjoy our meal, but moments later, the manager approached us and rudely asked us to leave.
His demeanor was absolutely unacceptable. He practically chased us away, insisting that he "didn't accept us" and even told my son to stand up because there were other people coming. It was shocking! When we explained that Eko had given us permission to sit there, instead of handling the situation gracefully, he barked back at Eko, telling him to "deal with them" and demanding we vacate the table before 7:30 PM. His long, annoyed face and obvious disrespect made the situation even worse.
This level of unprofessionalism is staggering. The manager could have approached us in a friendly manner, but instead, he chose to be nasty and dismissive. It felt incredibly disrespectful, and there was an undertone that seemed almost racially charged.
On top of the terrible service, the food was just mediocre. If you're looking for good Thai cuisine, I highly recommend Chatri Signature, which is nearby and far more welcoming.
Overall, I cannot express how disappointed I am with Carabao Restaurant. It’s better to avoid this place and save your time and money. Thanks to Eko for being polite and professional, but it’s clear the management needs serious improvement. Don't bother...

We came here for a peaceful family dinner, but what we experienced was absolutely unacceptable — not just poor service, but blatant disregard for basic safety and common decency.
After we ordered, drinks came out fine. But once the food started arriving, things went downhill fast.
I clearly and repeatedly asked the staff NOT to serve food from behind the children, especially since we had already made space for proper service. Despite this, the staff kept reaching over our children’s heads — without any warning — to place hot dishes on the table.
Four times. FOUR TIMES, I asked them to stop — and they ignored me every time.
When I finally raised my voice and addressed the only Chinese staff (named Alex), his response was shocking and completely unacceptable:
“If they don’t suddenly stand up, they won’t get burned. If they do, we’ll just pay you. If you’re that worried, don’t let them sit there.”
Are you serious?! That is your idea of customer care and child safety?
He never apologized, showed zero concern, and kept arguing with us. There was absolutely no sense of responsibility or awareness of how serious it would be if a child were burned.
At the end they forced a 10% discount on us. We told him we didn't want it and just wanted them to understand how dangerous their behavior was and apologize. But he still wanted us to accept the 10% discount and continued to ignore our conversation.
This was not just bad service. This was negligent, rude, and infuriating. I would never return, and I would warn any family with children to think twice before coming here.
Safety should never...
Read moreWe came here for dinner after reading good reviews on Google. Never coming back here again. Waitress was rude. Initially thought it was language barrier and she was Burmese. But despite being patient , same behaviour was repeated. I started off my order by saying ‘I would like Tom yam seafood …and I was cut short by her saying ‘wait wait wait’. This response was repeated thrice even when my husband came to order. We were asked to sit inside but when we opted to sit outside , manager threw us an unhappy look. Not sure what the problem was there. There were plenty of people sitting outside and we sat on a non-reserved table. Asked manager for food recommendations; response was : Why don’t you look at the menu? Not said rudely but unhelpful. Only when I approached the manager to complain about the service did he miraculously become so much more charming. Restaurant was busy as it was a Friday night, they were understaffed. But it was tedious having to keep asking for cutlery to be served, for the tomyam soup bowls to be served, for the ladle for the tomyam soup itself to be served. The way food was served seemed amateurish. In the end we took the cutlery ourselves because food had been served without the ladle and cutlery. Food prices aren’t cheap. Mango sticky rice was RM20+ unfortunately rice was too sticky and mango wasn’t sweet. We had ordered Tom yam soup (spicy without much tomyam flavour), pineapple fried rice and butter sotong was average. Tom Yam seafood meehoon was above average.
We were here on a holiday however this experience soured our...
