Kanteen31 Sunway Big Box — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

A pleasant surprise where we chanced upon this place. Haven’t been to this side of Sunway for quite some time didn’t notice and realised Kanteen31 opened. We were always at the Sports direct wing.

Read the review and decided to give it a try.

Ordered quite a plentiful of food, all of it waa delicious and very flavourful.

The fried rice full of wok hey.

the Tomyum mee Siam was pack with umami, was afraid it might taste too sour but it exceed my expectation.

The Curry chicken noodle was flavourful, didn’t feel gelak, some curry after eating too much you would feel quite gelak but this wasn’t the case.

All of the portion was reasonable portioned and they do provide upsized portion if you order. They do also make kosong, just mee siam or fried rice.

We ordered one of the greatest review, peanut butter French toast. It was really seriously good, but very sinful at the same time. Eat with moderation unless u’re going your cheat day 🤫

Price reasonably and also accessible QR code ordering.

Only the cleanliness needed to be improved, and would be good if every table had a box of tissue so we wouldn’t be sharing with another table. The table was still quite dirty after I gave it 2 wipe downs.

I have visited here many times — during brunch, lunch, and even dinner. But I would like to specifically highlight my visit on 14 Aug 2025, around 7:45 pm, when it was not full house.

The moment we were seated, a staff member was tidying up the self-service area, but he quickly came over to pass us the menu 👍.

After washing my hands, they were still wet. I noticed there was a tissue box, but since the staff was busy cleaning the self-service area, I didn’t want to disturb him. However, he noticed and, as soon as I sat down, he brought me the tissue box 👍— something I honestly didn’t expect.

Furthermore, at the table next to me, there were two mothers with two children. When the staff served French fries, he asked the parents whether the kids preferred chili sauce or tomato sauce, as the dish was initially served with chili sauce.

I must say, you have trained your staff very well. Kudos to these two staff members — you are very observant, attention to details, and most importantly — not the kind of ignorant service attitude you often see elsewhere.

Kanteen Sunway BigBox is my favorite go-to spot for a satisfying meal. I love the wide variety of dishes they offer, from breakfast to dinner. Whether it’s their fluffy French toast, the ever popular Ban Mian, or the flavorful Nasi Goreng Udang, there’s always something to enjoy. If you’re in the mood for a lighter bite, their Mantao served with a choice of three sauces is a great option. It’s also my favourite place to grab a morning coffee and kick start my day. Their coffee is really “gao gao,” just the way I like it, rich, strong, and full of flavour.
