The Warung Kita — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

I used to frequent this quite often, but after our recent visits, we were left extremely disappointed. On our first visit, we waited an excessively long time for our food. Although it was a holiday, the portion sizes were noticeably smaller, which was frustrating but somewhat understandable.

However, our second visit was completely unacceptable. We arrived at around 8:50AM, knowing breakfast starts at 9AM, so we waited outside. Initially, everything seemed fine, until we noticed a clear issue of discrimination. Our table, the only Chinese customers, was the last to be served the foods, while other Malay customers who arrived later than us, but were served food and drinks first.

When placing the order, to save the time, i order all 3 foods together. We waited for about half an hour, but only two were served, and my drinks is served after these 2 foods(but the next table which the later Malay customer is prior served the drinks.) After finishing the two items, the third item still hadn't arrived. When I engaged to one of the waiter, her response was cold and indifferent (CAN TELL OBVIOUSLY WHILE SHE TALKED TO THE MALAY CUSTOMER) She made no effort to check on the missing item, while the table next to us, whom is the Malay, was already enjoying the item we were missing.

This experience was infuriating and the first time I felt such blatant and severe racial discrimination. I am deeply offended and extremely disappointed.

To the SHOP: If you can’t manage a buffet concept properly, with food prepared in advance, then do not offer it. It's a waste of everyone's time and reflects poorly on your establishment. Due to this incident, we have decided never to visit your restaurant again and no worries, we will definitely to share this information to all our friend since your worker being so racist. This place is an unfortunate mess. They are overstaffed, yet it seems like the workers are untrained. We went for the buffet breakfast and it was a very long wait of more than 30 mins for the first dish to be served. The food was served cold, as though cooked and left for hours. There was no reason for service to be that slow when all they had to do was scoop food into a plate.

When they served us the first wrong dish, we asked the manager who took our order to confirm if he actually got our order correctly. He was somewhat rude (or perhaps overwhelmed by the number of things going wrong) and kept insisting that he got our orders correct. We looked across to the next table and the couple seemed surprised at what they were served, as though they also got the wrong food. Another lady then came up to complain to the manager that their orders were wrong too. The next thing served to us was, again, wrong. Worse, the kaya (which we didn't order) was disgustingly sweet and had zero coconut fragrance in it. After getting a couple more wrong orders, we decided to leave even though we were not full yet.

When we queued up to pay, the customer in front of us was very angry and refused to pay the full amount as their orders were also mostly wrong. I guess they also didn't eat a full meal like us.

Overall a total disaster. Lousy food, lousy service. Will never be back and definitely recommend everyone to...

Been a great surprise in the morning to chance upon The Warung Kita for our breakfast. We were well greeted by Gopal at the entrance and with him showing us an enticing buffet breakfast menu and with uis elaborate sharing we decided it will be our breakfast venue. The ambience and atmosphere was very modern with great vibes from all the service personnel. Chef of live station Ashok did extremely well taking pride with his work and dedication with our special egg request and even recommended me to try the Appam with coconut milk as dessert. Our main orders from the menu were taken by friendly staff Gopal who had took time to explain every items as we are not familiar with the dishes offered and served by Noyon with friendliness and smile together with Daya I believe was the floor manager of was very attentive to take the initiative to offer us 2nd rounds of hot beverages and even food choices. She even took time to explain the promotions for Lunch and dinner for our knowledge. During our time here, we could see the staff Komal taking pride and passion in service delivery and ensuring the used plates and cups etc are cleared timely and wiping down the table after every customer leaves.
