Sodam Korean BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

I have been a regular customer of Sodam Korean Restaurant since 2019 so I supposed you may take my comment into serious consideration if you would like to visit/revisit this Korean restaurant. The price of this restaurant is considered higher than average among other Korean restaurants in the same area you could choose in SUTERA. I don’t mind the price if the dish worth the price but apparently it’s NOT at all. Attached is the photo of a Tteobokki dish that costs Rm25 and the portion of the dish is unreasonably small and you can barely see any rice cake. Besides, it tastes very average. I have ordered some other dishes which the portion is relatively smaller as compared to other Korean restaurants but the price is higher than the rest. I have ordered same dishes more than once because it tasted good previously but the quality has dropped so much that I am really disappointed and will never give it another chance anymore. When I tried to feedback the portion of the dish and what the Korean Manager told me was the Rm25 price includes the refillable side dishes so it’s very normal. Besides, he claims that he has added fish cakes which other restaurants normally don’t add. Hello, do you think it’s my first time eating tteokbokki at a restaurant? The Korean manager also claimed that he never increases the price of their dishes so their restaurant is considered very good already. (“Thank you” for a pork shoulder dish which has less than 10 pieces of meat that costs Rm33 and didn’t increase the price ). Worst of all, he said just like Wanton mee, a local dish like tteobokki costs this much is very normal. Do you even check what’s the price of a bowl of Wanton Mee before you made this statement? Don’t embarrass yourself in front of a local please. I never take the photo of the pork dish and the remaining dishes but you may try to order one if you have no where to spend your money to see how small their portion is. To all the management of Sodam Korean Restaurant, you may continue your current way of serving customers if you want to chase all your loyal customers away and please be logical when you are trying to give an excuse of your bad service next...

As good as usual! The bbq taste fantastic! The side dishes could improve a bit more as there's much better shop give more variety. The giant dumplings is super good! The meat is well season and it's juicy when you take a bit! The shop don't take e-wallet so make sure having some cash will be on the safe hand. I am quite disappointed at the service for this time as we understand it might be the peak hour for you guys. Firstly when we made the order luckily is with the owner so it's fine, the owner is very polite. The food took like twenty minutes to be served. We were enjoy the meal until my friend wanted to refill her green tea. I press the button for twice in between the fifteenth minutes of waiting. My friend and I waited patiently. The calling button seem to be useless as they don't even check about it. We waited for fifteenth minutes there's no one came so we decided to wave our to one of the waitress, this particular waitress just give us a very impatience look and ignore us... It's like we did something wrong😢 afterwards I think we did call on the owner son finally he willing to help us on the refill. I really hope the owner could make sure if your waitress is unhappy about working on service in front the counter might as well just work behind the counter. The taste is ok， but I think it is worse than the first experience. This restaurant is different from others. If you are not ordering a full set of meal(including bbq),you will not be served with full set of 15 side dishes. My friend and I were craving for fried chicken， so we ordered fried chicken，glass noodles，steamed egg and fries. Actually the total price is higher than a set of meal. But we could only have 6 side dishes which were all vegetables without fish cakes or sausage. However，the couple next to us had 15 side dishes just because they ordered a set of Rm85 meal but we paid Rm108 for having 6 side dishes.
