2 stars for food because after 1 hour of wait, what you’re waiting for is not worth it anymore. It took them 1 hour to make a small signature tofu dish (egg tofu, snow pea, carrot in zhup) and a small portion of salted egg chicken. 1 star for service because when we asked about how long more it’ll take the food to come after waiting for 1 hour, the staff said “we already told you wait very long” in a condescending manner. Must be family biz with family members running the floor to have such attitude. Anyway, atmosphere is non-existent. Indoor seating has aircon that works like fan, and cramped space that makes the entire place overly noisy. Outdoor seating depends on the weather and other customers — if they smoke, you’ll be having second hand smoke with your meal. The ONLY good thing from this zichar place is the Satay Stall situated in front of it. RM20 for 15 sticks of the beautiful beef or chicken meat, well marinated and perfectly grilled with a superb balance of char and meat and fats. Don’t even need the satay sauce to eat it with. Just buy RM50 of the satay and have a satay party instead of waiting for the low quality zichar at the...
Read moreWas on vacation in desaru and looking for a nice place for dinner for the family. Saw this with great reviews and decided to try and are we impressed. My family were all in praise of the food with many describing some dishes as the best they had. The food appeals to both the young and old and it’s evident from the way they eat and asking for seconds when they usually don’t. Prices are very reasonable and we ordered more dishes but smaller portions so we can try more. Even in small sizes the portions are generous. The dishes that most impress us are the vinegar pork throttles, salt egg squid, crab meat fish maw soup, the fried rice are also a favorite with young and old. Definitely must try and the the restaurant lives up to its high...
Read moreIt has been difficult to find a decent food around Four Points at Sheraton hotel. The food at The Mesh in Sheraton is so so. And we are so glad that finally we found this restaurant, Yi Pin Xiang, managed by a Chinese owner.
The owner is friendly & patient & speaks English too! The menu has mostly dishes we find in a zhi char restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes & he doesn’t hard sell to push for us to order more. He said it’s enough for 2 of us. When we requested for less oil & salt, he understood. The food is good & cooked according to our requests for less oil & salt. The food tasted great & service is excellent. We recommend you to try Yi Pin Xiang when...
