Tucked away in a quiet alley adorned with whimsical mural art, this nostalgic café feels like a step back in time. The exterior sets the mood before you even enter – charming, artsy, and full of character, making it a delightful find for those who enjoy discovering hidden gems with personality. The café has a strong focus on desserts, and while the selection during our visit was quite limited, their signature soya beancurd dessert did not disappoint. Silky, lightly sweet, and comfortingly simple, it lived up to its reputation. Still, it would have been nice to see more variety on the menu. One unexpected highlight was the iced lemon tea. As someone who’s tried many versions across countless cafés, I can honestly say this was one of the better ones — refreshing, perfectly balanced between sweet and tart, and just what you’d want on a warm afternoon. Overall, while the dessert range could use some expansion, the nostalgic vibes, alleyway charm, and standout iced lemon tea make this café worth a stop — especially if you’re looking for a quiet spot with character and a solid drink in hand.

April 2023. We came into the old town to seek out the street art murals and whilst navigating our way through the back and side alleys we stumbled upon the Old Alley, a cute little shaved ice shop run by a cute little woman and daughter. The shaved ice was very welcome on this hot day, loved it, loved the place which has comfortable seating and nice decorations.

Smooth and silky Tau fa with various toppings and soy milk. Tried four seasons combo with Tao Jiao, Herbal Jelly, sago, taros. Like it with mild sweetness and think it could be better if it's served colder. Taro balls shall be made chewier. If you do not like shop's combo, you can choose your toppings too. Btw, it's instagrammable shop with unique design.

Air-con relief was how I stumbled into this little shop. The desserts - were out of this world!

Soy tofu - silky smooth, toothless also can enjoy Grass jelly - ALSO silky smooth, wish I could have it right nw Popiah - it's the dry version, but it's an interesting combi with dried floss - I do prefer Penang style though (where they drizzle the sauce...
