GD Cafe 好饮咖啡馆 (Jade Hills) — Restaurant in Kajang Municipal Council

A nice little surprise and luck we end up having lunch here in Gd cafe. Vast variety of heart warming malaysia Chinese soul foods (so non halal) kopi, cham, butter kaya bread, nasi lemak with fried/curry chicken and many more. you name it they got it.

I ordered a fried pork fat rice with fried egg and sausage, my wife ordered fried chicken marinated with lemon grass and a Cham ice. Food was good, my pork fat rice was to my liking with generous amount of fatty pork fat, the lemon grass chicken was freshly made so it’s juicy but little disappointed because not much of lemon grass flavor, Cham ice was superb. I could not comment for other foods but at least based on today experience I will definitely come back for more. And the price was very affordable too.

Little notes, the order and waiting time was taken bit of time but the seniors said they are quite new so I assume they will get better...

Visited few times last few months. Tried their siew bao, egg tarts, curry puff, roasted bread, half boiled eggs and few of their main dishes as well as cham, coffee and teh. Like their curry puff, but everything else taste average. Beverages are all too sweet for me even though had order less sweets.

Service wise it's terrible. Non responsive staffs especially during morning peak hour. Unfriendly most of the time, even the boss himself. Feels like I'm begging to pay every time when visit there. Poor me, pay for mediocre food and to "enjoy" the so call "service".

Would not recommend it unless you are eager to be mistreated by bunch of young teenagers and taste mediocre food. For myself, definitely will not be visiting this place anymore after given them few chances and still same attitude. Even after...

Verdict: Yes, I will repeat this restaurant. Not all foods are good though. See my recommendations below.

Food quality: 广府鸳鸯 Cantonese Yin Yong: 9.5/10. The combination of the Hor Fan and the crispy noodle is absolutely nailed it. The gravy was tasty too. Not too salty. 猪肚汤 Pork Stomach Soup: 9/10. Can use a little less salt. 炒萝卜糕 Fried Radish Cake: 4/10. Taste great, but the portion of radish cake are too little, it's all bean sprouts. 午餐肉饭 Luncheon Meat Rice: 9.5/10. The egg is so fresh and tasty. Dry Noodle with Curry Chicken: 7/10. Spinach Noodle: 9.5/10. Must try. Curry Mee: 7/10. 手打柠檬红茶 Lemon Red Tea: 2/10. No taste of tea.
