Pandian Corner: Kajang's Filling and Flavorful Eatery Pandian Corner isn't fancy, but it hits the spot for a satisfying and affordable South Indian meal in Kajang. Expect a casual atmosphere, friendly service, and a menu stacked with delicious options.
On the wallet: This is a budget-friendly spot. Most curries and dishes are well under RM20, and their meal sets offer a complete lunch at a very reasonable price. Perfect for a quick and tasty bite that won't break the bank.
On the plate: The menu focuses on South Indian flavors, with a good selection of dosa, idli, and vada. They also have a variety of curries, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, perfect for pairing with rice or roti. I recommend trying their chicken varuval, mutton varuval or the vegetarian meal set. Don't forget to add a side of their refreshing mooru to cool things down!
The atmosphere: This is a casual restaurant. Don't expect fancy decor, but it's clean and comfortable. The focus is definitely on the food, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends.
Overall: Pandian Corner is a hidden gem for those seeking authentic South Indian flavors at an affordable price. It's perfect for a casual meal that...
Read moreThis used to be my favourite Indian restaurant when it just opened under the name of Sri Paandi. Over the years it’s morphed into what it is now.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is hot and stuffy thanks to cooking counters at the front and poor ventilation. It’s also pretty run-down and often messy.
Food-wise, you get decent to good Indian food here including banana leaf meals in the afternoons. I haven’t ventured to try it in the afternoons due the aforementioned mentioned poor ventilation.
In the evenings, you have the option of sitting outside in the open when the weather permits. Thosai, puri, idli, fried noodles and also rice with dishes are available. Both their Thosai and Rawa Thosai are decent and you get sambhar, chicken or fish curries to go with it as well as two varieties of chutneys. Sadly, they don’t provide their tomato chutney anymore - it was a signature item of Sri Paandi’s before.
Takeaways are recommended here if you cannot bear the environment and stuffy...
