Very famous Malay restaurant n jam packed with dinners at lunch time. Lots of selections probably around 50 to 60 dishes plus another 10 variety of sauces chillies dips, raw vegetables plus desserts n Kueh. They even have a chicken rice stall n a stall frying BBQ fishes n seafood. They probably prepare a total of about 100 different food a day. Very impressive setup with lots of seatings and full house during peak hours with long Q.
The 2 big huge wok was very attractive but the curry kambing looks quite tough not tender so I didn't take it. I went for the curry beef.
It was very chewy n comes with many tendons attached to almost every chunk of beef. Some is so tough n not able to chew it down to smaller pieces to swallow (see photos attached ). Taste wise is mediocre at best nothing to shout about.
Both the big wok of curry kambing n beef looks so attractive n i think should be the star attraction of the restaurant but was a great letdown.
The Makcik selling nasi Lemak down the road about 100 meters away near the school n the other one near Taman Alam Jaya has better beef curry with tender beef n better taste. Price wise is very cheap. My food cost rm7.00 n teh tarik RM3.00 So many patrons are attracted to this place due to its price point plus the huge variety is a great pull factor here.
Very limited parking. Atmosphere is good n quite cooling n airy. May come back someday to try other dishes but there is no longer the urge as before when I first read about...
Read moreJust had lunch today at this place. Not my first time there as i had lunch few times before with family. Before this we really like this place as theres a lot of food option and the price is reasonable, enough for my family to consider this place the best place for lunch. 4 pax with multiple dishes like ikan bakar, daging salai, siput sedut, ulam2, air manis and bubur only RM70+ very reasonable. But today, wow i am speechless. The usual crowd and parking issues are normal. Whats unusual is RM42 for 2 pax. I ate plain rice with daging salai masak lemak with plain water, the stated price is 1 senduk rm10. My wife ate plain rice with siput sedut masak lemak and some ulam with budu and plain water. I was expecting rm30+ as both of us took masak lemak and plain water but to be billed RM42, wow... I even asked the cashier to scroll down for me to see the price on receipt but he said the screen cannot scroll down. I forgot to ask for receipt to see the price for each item since i was so shocked... Anyway, thanks for what used to be the good food with affordable price, me and my family never coming back...
Read moreCame to try after reading rave reviews about this restaurant. Place is super packed. Came here twice and always need to wait for table. Just stand next to tables that are almost done eating.
Plenty of Malays dishes to choose from. Very colorful! I like. Kambing, daging, chicken, fish, prawns, crabs, vegetables, salads etc even desserts. Self service, take a plate, scoop rice in your own and choose what dishes you fancy.
They are very generous with their condiments. Tempoyak included. Some shops go by weight. 🤦🏻♂️ not there though, they let you scoop how ever much you can digest. But please don’t waste food.
Once you’ve sit down with your plate of yummies, staff will come by and write down the amount on a piece of paper.
Pricing here is very (super) affordable. With a big plate kambing, fried chicken, assorted ulam, keropok and 5 satay for RM15! No way I can cook this for that price. My only qualms is that the food can be hotter.
Place is without AC and parking is a nightmare. Avoid lunch time at all costs. It will be packed like sardines.
Will definitely return to try...
