Kopi Tonggek 1987 — Restaurant in Kedah

We've made multiple trips from Ipoh to Alor Setar just to enjoy the delights at Kopi Tonggek. The buttered coffee was my first experience and now a must-have. I even request it at cafes in Ipoh! The lontong is rich and creamy, with a perfect blend of spices and a generous amount of ingredients, making it suitable for sharing. The ayam penyet is superbly spicy—too spicy for me, in fact. I had to order Air Bandung to cool down! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the portion size was impressive.

The service at Kopi Tonggek is fantastic. The friendly staff, especially the gals, took the time to interact with our kids, allowing us to focus on our meal. It's this kind of personal touch that makes every visit special.

Foods are quite delicious (but Kacang Pool is a bit salty & Nasi Lemak is quite oily, not coconuty enough, and the sambalnis on the sweeter side) Chicken is moist and flavorful Lontong os good but almost no vegetables inside Good portions to share with Spanish latte and Teh O Ais is too sweet (already remarked that we want it to be less sweet) Pricing is good A lot of seating (good for family gatherings, and they have baby chair) Service is quite slow as the foods didn’t come out all at once.

Went there before ramadan during lunchtime. Parking was hard. Barely had any. Location is okay to find. Place is cozy and easy to get a table (went there 2 times already). Food was good, but limited menu. I have tasted nasi lemak, roti telur goyang, kacang pool, butter milk kopi. Price is above average. ONE thing i want to complain, the freaking useless ordering apps.
