Needs a lot of improvement.
Came to Chola today after quiet sometime. I always enjoyed dining at this restaurant because of the quality of their food, very tasty and the waiters customer service is really good. Even though the price is expensive, I didn't mind paying because their food is really good. Can honestly say, one of the best in Klang. They have moved to a new corner lot nearby which has a bigger space. Good decision by the owner.
Noticed most of the waiters and staffs are new. They need a lot of training in attending to customers. The previous waiters know what is good to upsell to customers and they really recommend honesty. They also ask feedback from customers, when we are about to leave, when paying for the bill. These new staffs are just taking orders based on the menu.
Food quality was really bad. Didn't enjoy the food today. This is what we've ordered
Seafood Fried rice - so much of garlic and we could only get the garlic taste in the fried rice. It was really flat. We didn't finish the dish
Chola special briyani - A lot of rice and just 4 small chunks of chicken inside. Not generous with the serving. The taste was very flat and disappointing. The briyani was not cheap either
Fried sotong - The sotong was not fresh and it felt like we were chewing on rubber band.
Masala tea - Bad
Mango Lassie - so much of sugar.
Fried cauliflower - Very slimy...Was not fried longer.
It's clear after today's visit, the key of this restaurant food quality was because of the previous staffs/workers. They knew how to cook and serve. The new cooks and waiters don't know how to manage the restaurant. Hope the owner can look into this and improve the food quality.
We paid a lot today but didn't...
Read moreI went back to Cholas Kitchen after a few years and noticed the layout of the shop has changed a lot. The new setup feels more organised and spacious, making it more comfortable to dine in.
I went around 5.30pm and it wasn’t too crowded, so service was fast and attentive. I ordered their Cholas Mutton Thosai and Crab Rasam, while my mum had the Chicken 65 Briyani. The mutton thosai came with kheema mutton inside, but I personally found the thosai a bit too dry. When paired with the mutton gravy given, it was more enjoyable. The Chicken 65 Briyani came with boneless chicken and was served fresh, but for me it lacked a bit of kick in flavour.
The highlight was definitely the Crab Rasam which was very flavourful, aromatic and a must-try for anyone visiting. I also had their Bru coffee, which was strong and a nice way to end the meal.
The ambience was good, and the service was fast, though it did get a little crowded maybe because it was the weekend. The total cost was RM58, which I felt was reasonable for the portions and quality.
Overall, I’d rate the food 4 stars, mainly because of the excellent crab rasam. Glad to see the ambience has improved while the food quality...

2/4/2021-came for dinner with family. Ordered variety from the wok. The Meehun & the mee goreng were one of the worst eaten in Klang. Horrible taste.
The Appam was undercooked
The murtabak was nothing great either
The kotu paratha was under taste and dry.
Overall bad experience as when u inform the lady at the cashier she has the gut to say it is maybe a 1 off incident. I don't think this is the way to respond to your customers
First & Last here.
----response to the manager--- The Intention of Informing your cashier was not an expectation of refund but rather to improve the quality of your food. However her egoistic answer of maybe it's a one off incident and maybe Ur taste is different was not helpful ya. And sorry to say the food was not half eaten your quantity was so little. Even that we wondered? Please don't teach me how kotu paratha was supposed to taste as I am well aware of the taste myself. If a customer is giving you a genuine review please learn how to accept it. Anyway you lost one...
