A traditional coffee shop serving Chinese foods such as economy mix rice, varieties of noodle. Seatings are limited & quite awkward with many columns internally & odd stalls positioning. It hasn't been renovated for decades & looks gloomy.
The only attraction is the economy mix rice for lunch. The place is jam packed with patrons from as far as bukit raja industrial area, shah alam & for takeaways during that few hours. All the dishes are cooked by the owner singlehandedly & the taste is catered to the majority taste buds.
Not too salty, no msg, low sugar & most importantly every dish is as fresh as it gets since they're sold off daily. Pricing isn't like 5 years ago, it's gone up significantly.
Many moons ago, The owner himself alone will scoop the dishes you choose but he has to scrap this when his stall popularity grew. Now he's got 2 Indonesian girls assisting him, he stands at the end pricing & collecting money. Occasionally helping to pack takeaways.
At night, there's a tai-chow operating. You can order either rice with dishes or varieties of noodle. Hokkien fry...
Read moreWe love Ah Tiong's wan tan mee, the restaurant seats are limited. The bad and worse thing in that restaurant is that the economy rice chef, he cooked while smoking. Anytime you go, you will see him smoke. That's the only pet peeve that I have, it was very unhygienic and unhealthy. I cannot believe no one complain about him, the owner of the restaurant should have control the rules of their restaurant. Now seems like the customers are also smoking...

Both dishes lacked flavour and 'wok hei/ fire. However, the glutinous rice balls (湯圓) stall outside the kopitiam deserves 4 stars for its peanut and sesame filled balls that are smooth and soft skinned in a boiled ginger soup. Must have got the recipe right since there is constant queue of customers waiting to 'tar...
