Use to eat in Pao Xiang in centro last time. Good impression for both food n environment. However this one in Tmn Batai is pale in comparison. Thought of giving it a try since is new here n many gave good reviews too. Reach there at 9 morning on a holiday and surprise to see there is no one dining except a guy. Me n family still gave it a shot nevertheless. Upon sitting down, was surprise that the entire shop was manage by Bangladeshi. Conversing with them about BKT is truly painful, we still move forward nevertheless. And here comes the worst part, while other BKT outlets nearby can serve their client in less than 5mins during peak hours, this group of Bangladeshi took 20mins to serve us when there is no one in the shop. As if this is not bad enough, we also realise one of the dish served was beyond what we expected from their explanation. Before I ordered I asked what is the type of meat in this dish, pointing to the menu. He said lean meat but did not mentioned all the tendon-like tissue that will come along with it. It looks like lean meat somewhere near the intestine. I ordered because all my family members only eat lean meat. When the dish arrived none of my family touched it because it tasted more like intestine than meat. Besides, it cost a whopping RM32/bowl n is the most expensive bowl compare the one in the photos below. Overall the taste is really nothing to shout about. If u prefer ur BKT to be served n cooked by the locals, please don’t come here. If u prefer not crowded, don’t mind waiting and have a menu to guide you, this is the place for u.
P/S: in case anyone thought why the tendon-like dish I mentioned was not in the photo is because it came 5 minutes later for who knows what happen in...
Read moreWith a wide selection of Bak Kut Teh shops in the Sungai Rasa area, Pao Xiang stands out for me.
Unlike typical Bak Kut Teh presentations, Pao Xiang uses a unique method of tying the pork ribs together with string. This method is said to improve the meat's texture, keeping it tender and juicy throughout the cooking process. This unique presentation might add a touch of novelty and intrigue for some diners.
The soup hits all the right notes: rich, flavorful, and boasting a distinctive herbal aftertaste that lingers pleasantly, without any bitterness. Even the dry BKT is a delight, packed with tender meat and a generous portion of dried cuttlefish and sliced lady's fingers (okra).
The best part? The price! This Bak Kut Teh shop offers excellent value for the quality...
Read moreThis outlet is quite recent being a relocated outlet from another shop nearby. All being said, the servings here are quite generous in portion for each person.
Flavour wise, the BKT here is classic Klang standard. There's some variation of course, in the herbal aftertaste is there without the slight bitter aftertaste. Excellent! Even the dry version is quite tasty and they're generous with the amount of dried cuttlefish and sliced okra added to the pot. Pricing was actually very good for what it is. Highly recommended. One of the better Klang BKT shops around the...
