There are just too many BKT preferences to just name a few. The most difficult to manage is actually the pallet of the person you want to share your choice of BKT with hence it’s best to review based on these three reasons. The taste( some like it light, some thick, some herbally and some prefer just dry), soup type and serving choice. Today I’m revisiting one of the better few and it’s in Teluk Pulai ( first major junction as you approach Klang). I find this place offer the following; thick herbally soup with clay pot options. Henceforth when order we normally goes for the Chu Wan ( the ankle or elbow of the legs). Not so much of the fatty cuts but more of the tendons and cartilages cuts. They are not fussy about adding more soup as we loved it with oily rice. My personal preference is actually the dry, chilly and onions laced BKT clay pot. Not to be missed is of course the layered intestines and add on of tendons. We would skip the mushrooms ( Japanese needle mushrooms which normally thickens the soup even more). Not pocket friendly place but if visits are not as far apart as us then it’s fine. After BKT can walk across to this bun shop ( pau shop) called Klang Food and tapau for next couple of days breakfast for they do have a wonderful array of pau fillings. I seriously would recommend their Chinese dried vegetable pau and their big...
Read moreDropped by in the morning en route to a social call at a relative's place around the vicinity of the area. This is one of those places which certain locals favour and is consistently packed on weekends. Best avoid coming here during peak hours, weekends, and on public holidays, as finding a table and enjoying your meal in peace is anything but that. The weekday early brunch was good as the shop was less than half occupied and you had the attention of all the restaurant staff within.
Since it has been a while since I last came by here and one thing you can count on is the consistency of the BKT dish here. Richly robust and flavourful. As with the locals, I had my portion in an individual bowl which they served with an extra small bowl of the broth. This place is slightly different comparatively, with the soup having a strong rich garlic infused pork umami character. The cuts of meat is tender and juicy to the bite and there's that unmistakable underlying herbal note to the flavour. The meal is best savoured slowly preferably with some hot freshly brewed Chinese tea of your choice. All in all, a fantastic breakfast before heading off to say hullo to some cousins around the area. Highly...
Read moreFoods: We ordered soup bak kut teh and dried bak kut teh. The pork meats in the dried bak kut teh was very soft and tender. The meats in the soup bak kut teh is not as soft as the dried bkt but the soup is very fragrant and aromatic herbal flavor and it’s refillable, very generous with the soup.
Drinks: Chinese tea it is, weather is hot, the restaurant is hot too so we ordered ice to go with the tea. Tea can be refill, self service for the hot water.
Service: The service here is extremely good as well. The servers were very attentive, foods were served very quickly after you order despite they are very busy in the restaurant.
Ambience: Hot, no aircond. Always a queue (short or long queue depends on your luck), take a waiting number from them and wait for them to call out your number to get a table.
Parking: Parking is pretty challenging and can be real hard to get one nearby.
Would I come back again: Definitely yes.
Overall: The overall experience was really good and the foods was...
