I recently tried BKT Tasty and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The soup is the lighter, less thick type—which I actually enjoyed—and what truly surprised me was how perfectly the meat was cut. Tender and clean, it really stood out.
One thing I felt could be improved was the service experience. As someone born in Klang, BKT has always been one of my favorite dishes, and I’m used to being able to choose the specific meat cuts I prefer. When I asked, the crew mentioned that we couldn't choose our meat, which was a bit disappointing.
I do understand it might have been due to the late hour or their kitchen flow, but perhaps a more thoughtful explanation could help. For example, something like: “We’ll do our best, but we can’t promise certain cuts at this hour,” or even, “Selecting specific meat might take longer as we want to maintain quality.” This would feel more customer-friendly and still uphold the standards they care about.
That said, the environment was cozy, and I really appreciated that it’s pet-friendly—definitely a plus! I’d still recommend it and hope to see even better service communication...
Read moreSecluded in the Klang association building, it’s cozy and comfortable after renovation. The restaurant is spacious, well ventilated and clean. Service was efficient and quick. One pax for Bak Kut Teh is Rm18. The soup BKT is very aromatic, nicely sweet and full of herbal flavour. I don’t think they added MSG, so the soup is nice even on its own. There’s mushrooms and TaoPok and FuZhok in it. Can add more soup. The dry BKT is slightly more salty, but still not bad. The meats do not have a weird pork stench, it’s rather well cooked. You can pick your choice of meat: the ribs are good choice as there is mix of fatty and lean meat. The tendon is rather expensive RM30, but it’s so well cooked, very soft and tender, well seasoned too! Portion around 6 big pieces. Pork intestines, RM18/ bowl: okay, no weird taste, just it’s not the best. Vegetables RM8 big plate, fresh. Rice is Shallot Oil Rice, RM2. Fried Dough: RM2/plate Tea for 3pax RM8. Overall: decent meal, will come again. Maybe slightly pricey, but for the nice comfortable dining area,...
Read moreFirst and foremost, I would like to point out that the restaurant's service is subpar, with an unreasonable price compared to the service. Why I said so... I ordered a two-person hot pot with a serving of large bones and thicker skin, and we only got three small pieces of meat. When I inquired about how they measure the ordered portion? The service counter replied that they count bone and skin as a portion. The counter responded was treat us like we were unfamiliar with the market price and portion counted. Just a curious question? Are we searching for Bak Kut Teh based solely on bone and skin? Please keep in mind that we are not ordering the legs potion.. If you were planning on going to this restaurant for Bak Kut Teh, I hope you reconsider because it is not the best in town or has an authentic flavour! There are still many Bak Kut Teh restaurants that could provide better service and authentic taste...
