For the price we paid, the set menu was not worth it. Food wasn’t served in one go and it was hard to enjoy properly.

You get a very large crab with glass noodles in soup, and one can say it would cost in the region of RM150 ++. Fresh and flavourful, ‘clean’ taste.

Waxed meat rice in claypot. This was mediocre, and the rice felt of a lower quality, like zhap fan rice. Didn’t taste like the rice was cooked in the claypot itself. Maybe unagi rice is better?

Cod fish tasted not bad, but the garnishing can be a bit more generous.

Signature fish balls were underwhelming, but it’s fresh. It’s steamed with soy sauce and garlic, didn’t exactly wow anyone. There was 8 of us, so only one fishball each.

As for the tofu with minced pork, the portion was a disappointment (see teacup for size reference), I don’t even know how to portion this, each of us had only about a tablespoon each. This is a set menu for 6-8pax, but this can only serve 4 pax.

Cheese prawn was fresh and tasty. No complaints there. Lor Hon Zhai was actually Nam Yu Zhai, pink in color, lacking seasoning and again, small portion for 3-4pax.

We payed RM498 for this set for 6-8 pax. In truth we felt we overplayed by about RM100 to be fair. It’s important to be on your best on these kind of days, where they are many first timers trying your food but unfortunately they felt slightly short of...

First time at this MSL RESTAURANT for 1st day Chinese New Year 2024 Lunch, restaurant only have 3 serving tables at that time for lunch including us, Make a reservation for Chinese New Year Set at Rm 1388++ the shark fin soup got no crab meat and very little shark fin, taste like starch water, the restaurant only has two servicing staffs , the manager or Boss couldn't care less whether our Chinese New Year set has fully served on the table until we waited so long , he don't even know what set we order, until we approached him at his counter, we were told that insufficient time to boiled the dessert Tou Gau tong sui and no mochi for our dessert, this is the greatest joke as listed on the Menu indicate the list of foods then replaced us with pancake , come on only 3 tables for lunch and some more is the 1st day of Chinese New Year then don't sell Chinese New Year Set , if that's the case don't open for business on Chinese New Year , you should inform us onces we arrived and not towards finishing the meal, I wonder how they operate their business so did organize. Fully not recommend this restaurant. Food so so and nothing fantastic. No more second time horrible...

First of all, we waited an hour and a half for a table. Fine, our fault for not making a reservation. Waited another hour for the food to arrive. Fine, new restaurant, too many ppl, couldn’t cope, understandable. Ordered two pots of their signature claypot crab glass noodle because there were two tables of us, one pot came, we assumed another one will follow along. Waited another half hour, had to check with the waiter then only they tell us our they only had one pot left because they ran out of crabs. By this time, one table already finished one pot, the other table didn’t have a chance to try it. They could have at least told us when they brought the first pot, at least we could have shared and everyone got to try some. A moment later, they came out with another plate of crabs (when they clearly told us they ran out of crabs). I suspect they cooked the wrong dish. Overall, not a good first impression of the restaurant. Food is fine but it doesn’t warrant 2-3 hours of waiting time. You can try if you have the patience but make a...

This was our first dinner at this restaurant, and it coincided with our reunion gathering. The food and service we experienced didn't seem commensurate with the prices charged. Both the portion sizes and the appearance of the dishes left much to be desired. Following the traditional Lou sang, we were promptly served steamed fish and then cured rice, which left us puzzled and concerned that our order had been mistaken for another table's. The explanation given by the staff, stating that they simply serve whatever the chef prepares at the moment, added to our confusion. The timing and sequence of the dishes felt disjointed, and the overall quality of the food was questionable. We found ourselves having to actively remind the staff when there were prolonged gaps in the arrival of our dishes. In summary, the restaurant's pricing seems inflated for the quality and service provided, especially during peak periods like festive occasions when they appear to struggle with managing customer orders efficiently.
