As a Thai, I truly love this restaurant back home in Thailand. But here in Malaysia, I must say I’m really not ok and very disappointed. Today, I found string-like pieces, almost like a small bundle of rope, in my Pad Kra Pao. At first, I thought it might just be a vegetable root, but it wasn’t, it was actually a clump of tiny rope.
I tried to stay calm. I pointed it out to the female staff, but she just looked confused, as if wondering why I was pointing it out, even though I was literally about to pick it up to show her. Then the male staff came and replaced the dish without saying a single word. I didn’t know what to do, since I was already so tired from work that I had no energy to say anything more.
They brought me a new one, but I decided to eat only the egg and didn’t touch the Pad Kra Pao chicken. Then I went to pay.
I expected that the female staff at the cashier the first person who saw the rope would at least apologize or say something. But no, she acted like nothing had happened, until I had to bring it up myself.
It was only after I spoke up that the manager finally came over and told me they would give me a 10% discount.
A 10% discount? Please take a look again I barely touched the Pad Kra Pao or even the rice.
I was so happy when my favorite restaurant from Thailand opened near my home, but honestly, throughout the one year I’ve been here, I’ve rarely been impressed. And today will be the last time I eat at this branch. I’m reallly disappointed.
PS. Another thing is, I don’t feel comfortable eating the chicken Pad Kra Pao here because they don’t remove the chicken skin, and the taste is strange. In Thailand, this is my absolute favorite dish and I order it every single time. And yes, in Thailand, there is never any chicken skin in it, which makes the taste so much better. Here, the skin makes the flavor unpleasant, to the point that I only ever order the minced chicken version instead.
I even mentioned this to the manager before, that in Thailand they don’t add chicken skin, but nothing has...

Food arrival, maybe they not enough chef, or their ordering system all messed up. Whatever it is this is the first thing you need to fix. Customers that come earlier got their food first. No matter what are the excuses this is totally not acceptable when u waited for the food for more than 45 mins i see the tables are not even full
Compensation for customers. Tbh, if i am the boss, i will teach my staff to compensate more than just merely drinks. Customers has waited for more than 45 mins for food to arrive and you give FOC drink when the customers already have drinks on the table. Understand why customers are not happy at the first place. At least u should waive all the drinks for the customers or give a 10% discount on the bill. Its either u lose this 10% and hope that the customer will return, or u just lose this customer forever.
This is specifically review for the River Prawn Pad thai, first i have waited more than 45 min for the food to arrive, and only to get a pad thai and prawn that is harder than a rock. I then ask to replace with other dish whichever fastest possible. Again, if i am the boss/store manager, teach your staff to do some crisis management, i will not even charge the customer for the replacement dish at all. I rather lose rm12.90 than to lose one returning customers
In conclusion, i think they still got time and alot of space of improvement. i seriously dont hope that you close down so soon because i frequently patron PBJ and i want the mall to keep busy and active so it wont be dead. i wanted to review 1 star but i want to give u chance even though i dont think i will go there again in a near...
Read moreThis is one of the restaurants in the mall with good ratings. Needless to say, I had to experience the food myself and verify if the reviews are indeed valid. We placed an order for their tomyam mee with chicken, stir fried garlic chicken rice with egg and the minced chicken with thai basil. The tomyam noodles were as expected, springy in texture. While the soup wasn't exactly the rich creamy kind, it still packed decent taste with its sweet, sour and spicy elements. As for the stir fried garlic chicken rice, the garlicky taste was noticeable but I thought the flavors can be further enriched and it could have been more saucy. On the plus point, both dishes came with rather generous portions of chicken meat and they were tender. The minced chicken with thai basil was the more flavorful one reminiscent to the heavier tasting profile of Thai street food. I felt that they could include some chicken skin in the dish to introduce some fatty texture instead of just minced chicken meat. Overall, I thought the food tasted decent and given the affordable price point for an eatery situated in the mall, I think it is a...
