We went out for a late lunch in Pudu Ulu area but unfortunately the place we had in mind was closed. We walked towards the well known but pricey Char Siew Yoong for chicken/ char siew rice when we chanced upon this bright and new restaurant diagonally opposite it and walked over to have a closer look.. The banner on display at the entrance, caught our eyes, with an offer too difficult to refuse. The lunch set comprising steamed Song fish head in crushed ginger paste with sweet and sour pork, stirred fried green vegetables and a generous bowl of soup at only RM56.05. The Song fish head was relatively large and being served in an oblong porcelain plate giving it a classy and expensive ambience. Located in Pudu Ulu (near the PGRM building), 蕉赖海鲜饭店 Pudu Ulu Seafood Restaurant is apparently known for its fish and seafood dishes, with the cuisine being predominantly Teochew. I made a special order of Golden Mayonnaise Prawns (RM40 per prawn, min 4 prawns), Teochew Crab Meat Tofu, Steamed Lumpfish (they call it sea cucumber fish in Chinese), Teochew Kailan and Signature Pork Ribs.
Portions are huge, so it’s understandable why they require a larger group to dine. From the menu, I didn’t see any one-person dish so it’s probably wise to round up your food-loving...

Portion control is bad, same table with 10p, some dishes big portions, some can't even divide properly enough to share.
Cheap rice.
Service is almost to none, the place is less than 10 tables but basically, water, additional cups or plates difficult to call for service.
Toilet is ok, kopitiam level....
