Ali Maju Cafe — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Me and my friends totalling around 8 to 10 ppl used to go to Ali Maju when it was located at Pusat Bandar Damansara for their Nasi Goreng Kampung with sambal belacan on the side. This was normally after fellowship of the drinks. All of us used to order that dish. And it was perfect everytime. Sad to say tonight, it was a disaster even when it was not busy. My Nasi Goreng was no where near the taste of the old days but at least it came out hot. My friends Fried Mee Hoon tasted nice but came out lukewarm. Like it had been reheated on a slow low fire. Their capatti is quite good but only available until 11.00am. Their tomyam kitchen starts taking orders from 12.00noon onwards and dishes from here is quite good. Their fried chicken from their nasi kandar stalls is good and priced reasonably. Same goes for their rojak mee. Just like any other mamak joint, there are dedicated staff to take your order and there are dedicated staff to deliver your order. These delivery boys will only do just that. They only deliver. I had a mixed experience here. For dinner, I ordered nasi goreng kampung ayam, but after finishing my plate of nasi ayam, I realised the chicken they served was actually from curry — and it was unfortunately spoiled and smelly. That was a really unpleasant surprise.
