Wait time 0/10 🌟 Food quality 7/10 🌟 Worth it? 2/10 🌟

Will I come back? Not unless if it was free and I’m not hungry. Come and expect a 3-4 hour long lunch/brunch and make sure you eat before showing up if you’re hungry!

Food was really slow. And I mean, reaaally slow.

Our friends ordered 2 steaks at 1:30pm and it arrived at 3:00pm. The steak was done really well but it just wasnt worth the 1.5 hour wait.

The kimchi sea bass was really well done. Uni/sea urchin cream spaghetti lacked uni/sea urchin flavour but both good nonetheless. Although if I’m paying 100/pax I’d have higher expectations of the appetisers considering a plate of spaghetti or sea bass won’t even be worth more than 40rm. It really means that I’m paying an extra 60rm for extremely mediocre appetisers, poor service and a gimmicky endless brunch (where half the food never turns up despite sitting there for 2.5 hours)

Ordered 10 appetisers and only half of them arrived. We had to ask for them 3-4 times. Some never came! A very sus menu with items that never materialised. 2 salads missing!! We ordered a soft shell crab and was only given fried Sakura prawns and was told that it’s a soft shell crab!

Some of the sushi rolls are really nasty - a tempura battered fried sushi roll that used regular plain jasmine rice instead of sushi rice with what tastes like spam in the middle. What happened here?! I can’t believe they pulled an ichiban-boshi with that regular plain rice. It really doesn’t cost that much extra for the proper ingredients.

Don’t bother putting it on the menu for the sake of having more stuff in there - I’d rather have a smaller variety on the brunch menu than (a) filler menu items that aren’t real (b) concoctions that weren’t taste-tested.

Severely understaffed on a Sunday afternoon. Probably necessary as they can’t serve too much food for their “endless” brunch.

The 3 cans of Diet Coke arrived in under 30 minutes which was AWESOME POSSUM. Impeccable drinks service. Would recommend this place for drinks if you want...

This is my 3rd visit and probably my last. My first 2 visit was absolutely good. However can't say for the 3rd time. Came here for the Merdeka All You Can Eat lunch to celebrate my mother's birthday. Made a reservation couple of days ago. Ordered the blackened fish & chip and was surprised the size of the fish has shrunk so drastically compared to the first 2 times we're here. It literally look like we're served with two pieces of banana fritters. The standard for pomelo duck salad has dropped, duck was hard and dry, the quantity of duck has been reduced as well compared to my prior visit. Throughout the dining course, we're made to wait for our food to arrive, and it's not just 10 to 15 min wait. It's understandable if the restaurant is crowded but we're made to wait even after the crowd has subsided, felt as if this is a method for them to cut cost. We had to remind them on our order SEVERAL TIMES before the food was served. On top of that, before their closing time, we're informed that their wagyu mantou has finished, out of stock. For real? This is supposed to be the highlight dish of their menu and they're finished even before they serve their dinner crowd? Or is this another technique of limiting our order, to save cost? Worst part, when we reminded them of our order, we're told by one of the waiter, the kitchen has closed, even before their closing time. Why were we not told earlier on the last call to order? Isn't this a normal gesture every restaurant should do? Despite serving us our food eventually, the entire experience has left a very bitter taste, especially when I purposely brought my mother here to celebrate her birthday, thinking that PLOY has standard. Apparently...

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was a not bad deal with the dinner buffet, where you purchase this bundle of RM59.90 that comes with refillable appetizers.

The food was good overall including the appetizers, especially the wagyu mantou. We tried the aglio olio, saba fish and mostly all the appetizers. However, I will advise to stray away from the blackened fish and chips. The fish did not seem fresh at all and it was mushy.

We booked the 6pm timing and ordered the mains and appetizers straight because they warned us that the mains might be sold out afterwards. This statement is baffling to us. What do you mean mains can be sold out?

Even though we ordered so early and when the restaurant is still empty, we waited until almost 7pm or even later to get the full order from the first round of ordering. It might be a tactic for you to keep waiting for the food and eat lesser? This I am not sure. And they mentioned that there is a 2 hour eating time only, but eventually they let us stay longer cause we kept needing to wait for food after ordering (everything comes out 30 min - 1 hour later).

When we ordered a dessert for the birthday boy, requested with happy birthday wordings on it, we also need to wait another 30 min. We literally saw every single table's cakes/desserts being served and birthday song sang by the waiters TWICE FOR EVERY TABLE. I still need to keep asking for my dessert because I felt bad for the birthday boy.

All in all, if you have the patience for this then can consider visiting the restaurant. I hope the service of the staffs and cooking time can be improved tremendously because we do like...

Overall 4.5⭐ All the starters were delicious: pome-love salad (as a Thai inspired salad, it used a heavier spicy mayo base, unusual but nice touch); ploy fried chicken (beautifully fried with a dip); truffle fries (normal). Main courses didn't disappoint either. I ordered the wagyu special that came with different dishes. That stick of yakitori was absolutely the beast. Tender, charred and lightly seasoned to let the meat do the talking. The burger was good too. As was the wagyu curry. Didn't care too much for the wagyu sizzling plate. The sauce was too much and overwhelmed the meat. We loved the other main courses. Teriyaki chicken looked plain but the meat (even the breast part) was tender and well seasoned. Seafood aglio olio was a hit too. The birthday boy enjoyed the rack of lamb and chewed through the rib bones! He was also given a FOC Count Choculo (choc lava cake) as a birthday gift. Service was exceptional. The 3-4 staff looked after us well even though one of the birthday celebrations involved 3 large tables. The only points that prevented me from giving a perfect 5⭐ was the portioning of some of the dishes. I expected more than the 2 pieces of lamb rack (2 pieces of lamb do not sound like a rack to me!) and the aglio olio. The decor could do with a small makeover with more modern lighting. The faded dining table tops looked a bit tired.

A Traditional Well Balanced Meal with A Twist First off, this is a review on their food delivery and not dine-in Service: We ordered via a third party application which was fairly straight forward Packaging: Arrived in an ordinary looking paper box and plastic bag Australian M5 Wagyu Ribeye (200g) (RM 148) Taste: Rooted from their years of travel and much experimental comes Asian cuisine with a modern twist. Wagyu is known for its unique texture and melt in your mouth effect. Comparison between Japanese and Australian Wagyu would not be a fair playing field though both are graded similarly. But for a grade 5 wagyu by Australian standards, it had a decent amount of webbing of fat and a creamier feeling in our mouth making us crave for more with each bite. Though the ‘melt in your mouth’ sensation was not as prominent to that of Japanese Wagyu, the doneness of the meat was cooked brilliantly. Slightly crusty on the outside and a tinge of pink within. Accompanied by 3 succulent cherry tomatoes and a boatful of parmesan kombu potato rested on a bed of creamy sauce drizzled with parmesan. Price: Reasonable for the quality of food Recommended? Though some may call it simple, we think its a traditional well balanced meal with a twist Our full review is on Instagram (@monk3yseendo).
