I decided to take away their sticky date pudding (RM16.90) today. It was dry and very sweet. The toffee sauce was nice though. Honestly, If the cake was not so dry I would add a star. If the price was RM14 I would add another one. Honestly, it can be much better and its a shame as I can tell they used good ingredients. Will give them one more chance.
Ok. I came again on 20 October and ordered a banana cake. It was not good. Overly mushy and the flavour was too unusual. I understand that it's gluten free but I don't want to sacrifice taste for health. That's me.
Sigh… I totally forgot about coming here before and accidentally came today. My family wanted to go to Yellow Brick Road but the wait was too long. I saw that Nourish was by Kenny Hills Bakers and thought it would be good. So sad it wasn’t.
Out of 5 dishes ordered only the Chilli Pan Mee was decent. Everything else was just not worth the price and didn’t meet expectations.
Beef Pie - 1star - I ordered this thinking that it can’t go wrong. A premium pie by high-end bakers. Should be good right. Plus it’s rm28. What I got was a small almost burnt pie. Th filling was dried out and tasteless. I had to create my own sauce to give it flavour.
Mushroom caramelised onion sandwich with humus - 2star - wife’s order. She loves healthy eating and could not even finish half of it. I had it and even though I was hungry I just was not gonna have another bite.
Triple cheese macaroni - 3star - I ate this and quite liked it. The issue with this dish is that it is obviously targeted to children as most adults won’t eat macaroni and cheese. Especially if u go to a healthy Vegan restaurant. The cheese was too mature for kids and my daughter stopped after 5 spoonfuls.
Beef stew - 3star - honestly a very average stew. Good amount of tender beef but tasted very ordinary. Found that even when it’s in a metal skillet and warned that it was hot the food was only slightly warm. Pretty suss.
Chilli Pan Mee - 3star. It’s ok.
So I am officially never coming here again. Not only was their vegan dishes not nice but the Kenny Hills food was not good either. What a...
Read moreThe place is cozy with simple interior. It’s comfortable enough but not suitable for one to one catch ups as noise just bounces off the walls and its full most of the time. Good for a quick family brunch to fill your tummies, a lot of gluten free options. I usually go for the Vegan Viking and their signature peach strudel when I dine here. I must say that the cappuccino is a tad bit too small for my liking, too little to enjoy. Somehow I feel the vegan viking tasted better when they were in the previous location. In terms of service, don’t expect attentiveness when you opt for the outdoor area. Service will take a while for sure. But, if seated indoors, service is relatively quick. I find that it’s a resto so shouldn’t they come to our table and take orders? It’s a hassle for hungry customers to memorize everything they need to order on behalf of the fam or friends and then proceed to pay. Like today I couldn’t memorize my family’s orders so I had to write it down in my notes and say it out to the cashier. It’s not a crime but I’m thinking y’all already are so thoughtful when it comes to your menu, but you’re missing out on awesome customer...
Read moreI'm a bit confused as to why the ratings are as high as they are for Nourish, perhaps these are experiences from those who ordered food for takeaway instead of dining in.
It's always a bit of a pain when service charge is incurred when orders have to be made at the counter, as opposed to at the table though a waiter instead, and that is the case here with Nourish.
Food-wise, you'd expect the items on the menu to be freshly made when listed under the lunch section, but to my bemusement, it was a pre-made pastry that was on the counter that they would reheat and send my way. Of course, this is expected when you order snacks or pastries, not for a beef and mushroom pie you see under the lunch section, implying that it's hot and freshly made in the kitchen.
I ordered the baked Atlantic salmon as well, it was decent and there was nothing special about it. Truth be told, the service charge and less than satisfactory service from an overloaded team makes for a shabby experience. I'd much rather go to Yellow Brick Road next door instead, similarly-priced, but more...
