Chao Liu Xian Hotpot 潮六鲜鸡煲牛肉火锅 (KepongGi HQ) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

One of my largest regret today. We ordered dry chicken pot, fried ribs, fried rice and kuey teow. Fried rice and kuey teow were okay. It came quite fast to our surprise.

However, the main dish dry chicken pot, the owner said was with half chicken, but when served after 20min, it’s actually half chicken with most meat removed, felt cheated if compared to what you will get from Nando’s. Most of the chicken pieces were with large bone and only edge meat pieces. Taste was okay but there’s definitely room for improvement. But for such price, I really cannot accept it.

The fried ribs is even worse. Waited for half an hour for it to serve, and it has minimal meat really. Just flour covered with the ribs and fried colourfully. Honestly, I even had an idea that the kitchen were waiting for other dishes order that would make available ribs available, then only start to fry it. TLDR; it’s leftover bone and labeled as ribs.

Should’ve just wait for “fish with you” beside for the time and the price. And don’t sit outside, really hot in front of the kitchen....

My honest opinion, the soup really is the best that holds everything else in place. Otherwise, it would not make it this far to review given the price is not cheap as well. Might I remind you not to order the Kuay Teow it tasted weird idk issit the type of flour they use to make this Kuay Teow or some sort. It makes me wanna pxke after taking the first bite; I tried to finished it but I couldn’t stand the tasted 🥴

Also another downside, place is too cramp. Being stared at and a little judgy by the workers standing next to our table wasn't that pleasant at all. We were just 30cm from the drinks prep stations soo you can imagine it yourself. idk trying to maximize the customer pax per...

Serving a variety of chaoshan cuisine..my favourite must be the seaurchin fried rice. Very fragrant and the rice is springy and chewy. Fried tofu that came with the set was delicious too. Crispy and soft going really with the dipping broth and mint leaves. Fired tomato surprises me too, crispy but juicy. The hotpot broth was very rich, just that comes with different parts of chicken, but just chicken so kinda got bored eating...
