Christine's Bakery @Pavilion Damansara Heights — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

It was a lively Thursday afternoon when my colleagues and I decided to break from the office routine and treat ourselves to a group lunch here. The natural lighting pouring in through the large windows was perfect for photos, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

Service started off impeccably, with attentive staff making us feel welcome. However, after ordering our desired foods, we experienced a significant delay just for the pasta. Apparently they overlooked our pasta order but the rest of out orders were served promptly. When it finally arrived, the pasta was unfortunately too salty, and I had to send it back. Despite this hiccup, the staff's prompt and sincere response, including a personal apology from the manager and a complimentary strawberry fruit tart, helped ease the frustration.

The replacement dish arrived quickly and was perfect—al dente pasta with crispy, tender crab and delightful bursts of tobiko flavor. The strawberry fruit tart was a sweet and satisfying end to the meal. My colleagues had no complaints on their order so I guess all is well on their side.

I made a booking for 15 pax for lunch 1.5 weeks in advance. Today, a few days before the lunch itself, they called me in the evening to ask me to change my lunch booking to another day, because they had another private booking. When I told them that our lunch plans could not be rescheduled, the service staff then told me that the manager would call me back instead. Even when I asked if she could confirm if my booking was cancelled or not (so that i could make another booking somewhere else), she just insisted that the manager would talk to me instead.

One hour later, the manager calls me and says that they are cancelling my booking because they have another private booking for the whole restaurant, and that booking was made a few weeks ago but menu just confirmed today.

Christine's should not have taken my booking if there was already a tentative booking by someone else before my booking. If Christine's already knew that they would have to cancel my booking, why can't the service staff inform and instead the manager only informs...

This is my first time at Pavilion Damansara and also my first visit to Christine's outlet here. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. There were so many things to order from the menu, and thankfully today we had Nazmi to serve our table. Nazmi is a wonderful barista; he’s not only excels in his craft but also goes the extra mile by recommending suitable desserts to pair with our coffees and matcha latte too. Not only that, he keeps on checking on us if we are OK and need any assistance. We enjoyed a nice coffee art in the latte (a seahorse, which reminds me of the great time being underwater; coincidentally I am an avid scuba diver).

The food served were delicious; we ordered Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik (I highly recommend this if you’re in the mood for rice) and Wagyu Steak Out Bagel - the bagel is so soft, fluffy and the meat is just amazingly melt in your mouth. For dessert, we enjoyed Mango Cheese and Cream Cheese Lemon.
