The comfortable decor and seating, the spacious layout, the strong air conditioning, the friendly and warm service, and the clean, hygienic environment are all huge pluses. If it weren't for the joint giveaway from the "Hotel Buffet Lovers" group and Sofitel Hotel, I probably wouldn't have come here to eat. I feel incredibly lucky! 🤭 At first, I just saw the administrator's post and couldn't personally experience the deliciousness. But then I stepped into this restaurant... The chilled seafood platter was a real eye-catcher. Oysters and huge prawns were piled up like little mountains, with various sauces on the side. Just looking at it made my mouth water. And the cold cuts! They used a super vintage red slicing machine to cut them on the spot, which felt extra special. 🥰 Then I walked to the hot food section and found so many local dishes served in rustic clay pots. Some of the specialty dishes even had the chef's photo next to them with the local name, which gave it a really authentic feel. 😋 I came across the luxurious cheese station, which had a complete range of cheeses. From familiar ones like Cheddar and Emmental to the moldy Blue Cheese, they had it all! 😍😍😍 It was even served with grapes and honey. This is truly a cheese lover's paradise! 🥳 The Chinese food section was also impressive. There was a whole roasted duck, glistening with oil, that looked so tempting. It was actually really delicious! 😋 Even I, who normally doesn't eat duck, had quite a bit. 🤭🤭🤭 The desserts were a pleasant surprise. Besides the usual chocolate fountain and ice cream, there was an assortment of Malaysian-style desserts and Nyonya kuih. They were small and super cute, but every single one was great. There was also a shaved ice corner with so many toppings to choose from. 😍 And there's more! Tucked away in a corner were Wagyu beef and some marinated meats. You can use the number card on your table to order from the chef. Just pick your preferred cut of meat and cooking style, and leave the rest to them. They'll deliver the delicious dish right to your table. Finally, the drink selection was also very thoughtful. It wasn't just a basic coffee machine; they offered Nespresso coffee and Dilmah tea bags, plus chilled bottled juices on ice. After a satisfying meal, having a good cup of tea or coffee really felt like the perfect end to the experience. 🥰🥰🥰 The entire experience felt like more than just a place to get full; it was a food carnival. There was a variety of cuisines, and every dish was made with care. Besides the things I liked, they also had Chinese, Italian, and Malay food, a wide selection of fruits, a noodle station where you can cook your own noodles, and so much more. I really wish I had nine stomachs like a cow! 🤭🤭🤭 Oh well, now that I know there's such a great buffet, I'll just save what I didn't get to try for my next visit. It feels amazing to have been a lucky winner in this event! 🥳
A couple of small suggestions: 1. Could provide crab-eating tools for customers so it's not so messy. Provide finger bowls with lemon water. Although the restroom isn't far, it's a bit inconvenient to have to walk there every time after eating. 😆 For the Wagyu, try to add "grilling" as an option. A simple grill with a bit of salt and pepper would allow customers to experience the fresh flavor of the Wagyu even better than the other three cooking methods.
Spacious and comfortable seating, soft yet bright lighting, a cool air-conditioned, and professional, friendly service staff all made this dinner even more enjoyable. 🥰 Thank you very much. Will come...
Read moreWent for lunch buffet on weekdays around 2pm. Some days full house other days quite chill. Staffs can be overwhelming during special occasions but its understandable.
The place is quite grand yet very comfortable, all the staffs are friendly and attentive and their service speed is quite fast. Tables are clean and well maintained. Only minor suggestions includes putting extra plates and mugs on each counters especially during peak days would help out a lot.
The food options for lunch buffet is overwhelming and there's a lot of interesting things to try. Although seafood portions are a bit small, but it is quite fresh despite nearing closing time, so far havent experienced any bad ones yet, but with limited quantity at times. The fresh juice is great but i feel like the coffee and tea is a miss, could use with couple of those fancy bean to cup coffee machines. But since most are focus on the main meals i guess drinks isnt the priority at least for lunch.
To compensate this they do include a lot of heavy and great main entrees, which all are consistently good in taste and presentation. Special features such as the freshest garden salad bar that you have to cut your own, and a custom pasta station with cooking presentation on a cheese wheel makes this experience memorable.
As for fruit options i think it's alright, somewhat compatible to Courtyard Marriott standards. Cheese and bread options are quite typical of a 5 start standards. Chinese steam fish is great, additional malay and indian sections are a bonus too.
However as for dessert its really good. So far no cutting corners which i respect. Popcorns sre still fresh, all the cakes are premium taste and of excellent presentation, kuih is alright i guess, they didnt cheap out on the brownies chocolate, cheesecake quality etc... chocolate fountain is fun and they even have gelato which is awesome. Would be nice if theres addional Chinese dessert/kuih and one indian sweet options for representation (dont need much, just one, maybe a simple thing like palkova and Deuk Deuk Tong for example in addition to kuih muih, since i saw lots of Kuih options but i dont think they last that long which can he a waste).
Overall its a Worthy experience for a special occasion and i thank all the staff for providing excellent service and the opportunity to dine here
Basement parking is shared with the rest of the DC Mall parking, it can be confusing, but basically its within the purple pillars zone (lift...
Read moreWe went here for the first time. We booked through Eatigo app and gave a try on this hotel.
Let's talk about the food first. During Sunday evening we visited, it's not very crowded. The food arrangement seems a lot and many variety. However, there are some food like seafood (especially fish) is not very fresh.. When we bite the fish, we can know whether is still fresh or not. Unfortunately, we tasted the Grilled fish (not the salted bake fish) and it's no longer fresh anymore. I even attempt to smell it to ensure whether it's my problem or not.. However, I smell the bad fish smell.. And I pull aside and not willing to eat it.. The Crab (especially crab legs) is super hard to open and eat it, that's why not much people prefer to take it. The crab may not seems fresh as I think. However, I like the sweet mayonnaise (orange color) they offered because it paired so well with the shrimp and other seafood... If its the seafoods were fresh then everything is perfect.
The western grilled beef was very hard to bite and swallow maybe it's overcooked already. My dad's denture almost fall out from his mouth.
What I like the most was their salad section because I can see there were many salad to choose form. Some were ready made, some of it you can self DIY by cutting some fresh veges and pairing some olives and any sauces or olive oil that you want. I liked the beetroot salad and the 3 choices of Hummus the most. (didn't take photos here and I can't prove anything)
The pasta stall, I personally felt good because it was freshly made from the kitchen only IF you request to have it And, the malay chef girl was very heart warming and helpful to me. So this part was adding some marks.
I like their hot coffee becuase it was hot enough. And, we enjoyed it very much. However, when talked about dessert.. Although it seems a lot choices but I can't mention one of it that i like the most. Maybe the highest mark I will only give to the cheese cake part.
It seems like it needs to make some improvement especially the freshness of the food.
The environment is classy and dim. The staff there were nice and...
