They still serve the best gulai kawah in bangsar south area, they've also updated their drinks and ice cream to be sourced from halal supplier. There's new menu of Thai sausages. They payment only accept cash, e-wallet or bank transfer only. Card Payment (debit or credit) is not accepted.
Still one of the best eateries in town, we're always here for the gulai kawah and fried chicken, but the grilled fish looks tasty as well. Maybe next time we will try it.
Anyway, try to always come here around lunch time from 11AM - 12.30PM and get their the infamous Gulai Kawah. Their friend chicken is something that you might want to try.
There's a lot of variety food that you can try but try their infamous Gulai Kawah, it's their signature dish.
They have 2 seating place, outside with a fan or if you would like a cooler and quitter place, there's an inside seating place with an air conditioning and bigger table (perfect for family gathering).
Pricing wise is quite okay for the taste that you get. RM14 for 1 big scoop of gulai kawah, 1 pc of fried chicken (just fried so it's still hot), a plate of rice and cucumber as the veggies + warm lime to flush down all the oil that you take.
Since they get more famous and more people comes to this place, they created a parking space just behind the restaurant, but please be advise, there's no cover for this parking space. The other option is just drive a few meters more from the restaurant and you can park on the side of the road, which I would prefer since there's a huge tree covering your car so it won't get too hot once you're done with your meal.
My verdict here, it's a nice place to eat once in a while with a good food and not so...
Read moreThe place if you are craving of tasty melayu food. I recommend to visit before 12 pm as it is crowded and hard to get parking during lunch hours. It has AC area that is open after 12pm.
The only downside of this restaurant is they will calculate your order when u have take the food, they will come to your table, calculate, give the bill in a paper. Don't eat before they calculate or you will be charged maximum price for the items u picked. Once we ate here, 2 employees calculated for us in different time (all before we started eating), we just let them do to make sure we got the fair and honest price. It turned out the first bill was rm3 cheaper than the 2nd bill. So funny. So we complaint to the cashier when we paid. It happened when they use manual written calculation on a paper. Idk now since they now are using digital billing machine. Such a progression but only limited machine provided so it takes a very long time for our table to be calculated...
Read morePassed by this huge restaurant at Pantai Dalam. Plenty of Malay cuisine to choose from. Go to the rice station, grab a plate and choose your poison. Everything is self service, except for hot drinks Quick turnaround.
Malay mixed rice 1 - nasi Dayang, gulai itik, sambal ikan bilis, telur goreng and gulai daging. Everthing was spot in. Highlight for me was the daging. Itik ain’t too shabby. 1st time trying gulai itik. I like!
Mixed rice 2 - nasi putih, kembung, ulam + tempoyak, veg dish and sambal ikan bilis.
Malay mixed rice x 2 and 2 iced drinks @ RM41.50! Not overly expensive and we did grab a lot of meat.
Place is without AC. Place is clean with a bigass fan! Cooling .. I like. wasn’t sweating. Place is without a signboard. But it’s the nicest shopfront along the way. Parking is a nightmare as there are flats at the back of the restaurant. Will be back to try...
