After paying a visit out of curiosity caused from all the hype and artists' endorsements.. I'm doubtful that the service and food quality are as said by others here.. felt it was just a commercialised service standard where you don't expect much of sincerity here despite the concept of Taiwanese-Japanese (people of manners in general at least in these countries' restaurants). While we weren't finished with our drinks yet, one male staff came abruptly standing between me and my friend (we were obviously talking to each other), intentionally disrupting our conversation to ask, sorry i meant TELL us that he wants to clear the table. He stood so close in between that I felt like I was being told "hey, stop talking there and quickly leave" kinda impression, even my friends felt the same. Go Noodle's service would definitely be more commendable compared to this. This particularly incident ruined the whole experience and it's one of the reason I'm so triggered to write this review in hopes that they'd look into it.
Others: Toilet wasn't as clean as it might seem compared to the dining area. Soap wasn't refilled when it's so important to have your hand soap always filled for customers to clean their hands especially during this whole Covid-19 pandemic.
On your way to the toilet, you'll notice there's a partition which they made under the stairs to the upper level where they probably store soup or sauce pots. Took one glance as I walk past and it certainly didn't give me a good feeling (hygienically). I wonder if DBKL approved this?
The noodles and the braised pork were good, buttermilk chicken was not bad also but on the sweeter side. However...Pork cutlet was really mediocre. The beef soup broth itself was alright (also on the sweeter side), the meatball was totally bland, beef slice were one of the driest I had.
Our elbows kept bumping into the people esp staff walking past behind us - walkways aren't spaced out enough.. luckily there weren't accidents.
Do spend some time looking into these before branching out to...
Read morewe've ordered Taiwanese crispy chicken chop chew-chew noodle (A5) and chew-chew noodle with spicy beef soup (A10).
for Taiwanese crispy chicken chop chew-chew noodle, the batter of crispy chicken chop is excellent, and the meat is very thick & tender, flavoring is just nice. however the soup served is way tooo salty, so we tried one sip and just leave it.
for chew-chew noodle with spicy beef soup, the soup is tooo sweet, no spicy kick at all. if you asked me to try the soup without telling me it's spicy flavor, I would think that it's sweet-based soup and will not relate to spicy. beef portion is small, meat not tender enough, and beef balls didn't absorb the taste of soup at all. pickles are good.
homemade luo han guo is tooo sweet for our liking.
their noodle is springy enough, but sadly it's not served hot. apparently all the food is not hot when served, including eggs, soup & meat. chili is mediocre. we're allowed to have additional noodle for free (one time only). generous =)
there are a lot of staff, but not attentive enough. environment is pl (although quite noisy during peak hour). staff has advised that chicken chop may need longer waiting time, but end up we waited for 17 minutes for the chicken chop set, and 25 minutes for spicy beef soup set. weird.
one more thing is about hygiene. I found that their staff didn't wear glove while inserting chopsticks to its holder. should have extra precaution on hygiene.
washroom is big, but not too clean. probably the one who entered before me doesn't know washroom etiquette.
2nd visit: Soup is still over sweet (that will overpower the taste of noodle) although they claimed that they're using fruits to...
Read moreFound this Taiwanese-Japanese fusion casual noodle shop from Instagram, located just around Plaza Mont Kiara. This was a review for Japanese Pork Katsu Handmade Noodle and Japanese Pork Katsu Curry Omurice (my boyfriend's order - not in picture).
🍛Japanese Pork Katsu Curry Omurice: Tastes bland, just normal. However, my boyfriend (experienced Japanese cuisine chef) claimed it tasted like not a fresh curry being cooked. Talked this matter over the cashier, and we were being told that the curry was mixed with vinegar which is not recommended. (Or is that their style of curry?). Rice is cooked not nice, only the pork katsu is acceptable.
🍜 Japanese Pork Katsu Handmade Noodle (not sure if this is the correct name in the menu, I forgot): Comes with Miso soup, sambal, Pork cutlets and mayo, handmade noodles topped with savory diced pork. The noodles are quite rare to find in Malaysia, but it does look similar with Bakmi GM in Indonesia. Miso soup, chili and pork cutlets are just normal (the pork isn't that WOW flavor, but at least it's a nice combination with the mayo). The noodles and diced pork is just 'okay' for me, not the best, but not the worst. Still have rooms for improvement.
Service: Noodles are okay. However, the curry rice took more than 30 minutes until being served, which was NG.
Ambience & Design Cosy and casual. Interior kind of reminds me of boba shops. Tbh, a plus point given for the brand. Very eyecatching, very local and minimalist. Cute restaurant branding! Can improve through the beverages bottles.
RM70++ for 2 pax. Will I Come Back: Yes, only for...
