Superb steam boat experience. The heat is produced by using charcoal. You can enjoy Unlimited refill for vegetables and noodles. Which means you won’t leave feeling hungry. The best food in the set is the black pepper chicken slice which unfortunately isn’t refillable. Even in the smallest set, there are 3 plates of it. It is perfectly marinated with thick and tasty black paper sauce. Definitely the best black pepper chicken slice I’ve ever eaten. The home made green chili sauce is an awesome mix of sour and spicy.
But this place is by no means perfect. Parking is very difficult. Expect to spend at least 15 minutes to search for parking. The place is very very hot due to all the charcoal burning, expect to sweat a lot due to the heat and spiciness of the chili sauce. I would recommend to visit on a cloudy or rainy day. There is also usually a long wait if you arrive after 7pm. This place is usually crowded by 6:30pm. Although the steamboat set is quite reasonable which starts at RM38, the drinks are very very expensive. Might as well go buy a drink at KK mart which is just a few shops...
Read moreWe're here almost every month or every other month, nice to come especially when it's overcast or rainy. Price is cheap. Small pot for RM38, big pot for RM48, both with noodle, veggie, Japanese tofu, fish balls and pork slices, Big mug of juice for RM8. Free refill for veggie and soup. Nice charcoal grill flavour and fresh meat. I like more of unprocessed food like these. They have black pepper pork but if you don't like it you can request to change it to normal pork. Sometimes I think their chilli sauce is the major thing that makes everything so delicious. It's for sale if you're interested. Just ask the attendants. They show great teamwork when the rain comes suddenly. They could put up a tent in about 6 minutes without bothering the customers. One thing not good is that if you come on a hot day, the veggie may have gone bad cause of the heat. Very basic shop with no fancy interior design, so you don't pay for that. Just for the food you eat and their service. Worth...
Read moreCharcoal-cooked Thai barbecue steamboat (or Mookata) in a casual setting, with cute low tables outside and under a blue canopy! Prices start from RM38 for 2-3 persons. You get meat, fishballs, tofu and cabbage to start off with, and option to order add-ons as you go. Oh, the sauce is great!
First impressions- I thought it was a Thai restaurant until I saw the steamboats on the tables; now I know what "mookata" means. Servers are mostly girls and service is good. Steamboat is charcoal-cooked. Beer is sold too. This place is good for groups.
