Food are delicious. We had lunch and ordered Set Talam A with add ons. Most of the food are good. We had keli berlado, daging salai masak lemak, ikan pekasam, ayam kg goreng. Patin masak tempoyak and moist chocolate cake probably not the best in their menu.

A little bit of let down , not really major but this feedback should help them improve:

  1. When we arrive, they have crews but no one attend us and direct us to our reservation. I have to wait at the counter but still they're not bothered to ask if we have reservation. Then I have to prompt them, asking where is our table , and then only we're told our table is upstair. We went up, we couldnt find our table cause the table number is small, printed together with the QR code on the table. Also, we couldnt find our table simply because the no. was hidden, and other group of people mistakenly occupied our table. Would be easier if there's staff that can navigate us where is the table.

  2. We have to pay RM50 to confirm our reservation and they suppose to deduct the amount from the total bill, but here is the problem, when we ordered food using the apps, the apps will prompt whether we want to take the bill to the counter or skip the que by paying it online. So we decided to pay online. But upon checkout, the excess of RM50 booking was not utilize and they dont return cash so they ask us to spend more to utilize RM50. This is inconvenient as we already full with lunch and why we have to spend more?

This particular part is irritating and they need to improve their booking system. Perhaps , booking fee of RM50 is unecessary. I can understand that the restaurant want a commited customer to avoid reservation unattended , but it should come with mitigation on how to return the booking fee if not utilized or when we pay online and miss to utilzie RM50.

Thank you for having us, the foods are good, place are nice and...

Second time here. Disappointed with the reservation arrangement, staff’s attitude, and table cleaning.

I called to make my reservation on Wednesday, for Saturday lunch. Since I had been there before almost a year ago, I had the number saved on my phone, so I called that very same number, was entertained by a female staff over the phone, who took down my reservation and confirmed it. She didn’t ask for any deposit, etc, she simply said ok and that was it.

When my family and I arrived for our reserved slot at 1pm today (Saturday) the staff Shukri at the counter told us that we didn’t book a table, and they could accommodate us at a reserved table, but we had to leave by 3pm to make way for a customer who had booked that table and paid a deposit. He asked if we paid any— we didn’t, since we weren’t asked for it…

I had to show him screenshots on my phone of the phone number I called and my call history to convince him that I DID reserve a table. He finally said he’d take care of the 3pm reservation and that we could stay till after 3pm if we needed to. For this, I’d like to thank him. But it disappointed me that there was zero apology from Shukri on behalf of the restaurant (because one of you— the restaurant staff, didn’t handle our reservation properly) or even a hint of a smile.

Please educate your workers, especially those working and dealing with customers on the correct and right way to handle a mess like this. A little apology and smile could go a long way.

Pleasa also train your staff on the standardised practices of the restaurant, such as taking down reservations. Every staff should know the steps they need to take when handling reservations, like asking customers for deposits etc.

Also, please train your workers to be more attentive in collecting used plates and...

Super authentic Malaysian dish made with some twists that made sense of course, not forgetting super delicious too!

We had plain white rice, egg plant sambal, fried egg, ayam kampung masak merah and tethered meat cooked in spicy tamarind sauce. Let's address one query lingering in my head. I'm not sure entirely, but I think that the ayam kampung isn't actually ayam kampung. I'm not making a claim, this is just my opinion. I may have not eaten much ayam kampung, but normally the meat is quite tough and quite hard to nibble at cartilage areas. This one, it's actually quite pleasant. Very soft, juicy chicken and as you bite the meat, the savoriness comes to edge of the throat that lingers beyond yonder 😝. The egg plant sambal is just totally epic! Reminds me of my grandma cooking. When eating with the fragrant rice really brings out the umami taste that coats the rice's starchy taste. Star of the lunch was the tethered meat. It's no where near wagyu level but the chewiness really brings out the 'asam pedas' taste while you eat with rice. The restaurant is limited in seats. You may find that the restaurant fills up pretty quick during peak hours, therefore I would recommend coming early or come during off peak hours in order to enjoy the food and the mood. A very pleasant experience. Not sure if I'll come back, the parking situation is a bit off putting.

Sorry I don't have any picks. Not the type to take pics of what I eat most...

Last weekend, after my wife’s appointment at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, we looked for a nearby place for lunch. Initially, we planned to dine at Restoran Sari Ratu, but along the way my wife noticed a restaurant called Hidang. Located within a residential area, the restaurant has converted a bungalow into a dining space. Serving traditional Malay cuisine, the dishes are presented in clay plates and bowls, reminiscent of village dining. It immediately reminded me of Restoran Kampunglah, though Hidang offers a bungalow-style setting. We tried the asam pedas, ayam kampung, pucuk paku masak lemak, and sambal catfish. The asam pedas was flavorful and well-balanced, not overly spicy, and suitable for most palates. The ayam kampung and pucuk paku masak lemak were fairly ordinary, while the sambal catfish was generous in size and well-cooked. However, the excessive fried shallots on top added a slight bitterness. Portions were commendably large, which I appreciated. The restaurant also offers traditional Malay kuih and desserts. Pricing leans toward the higher side, and parking is limited due to the residential location. Overall, the food was decent, slightly better than Kampunglah, with a clean and pleasant ambience. A unique dining experience, but perhaps not one I would return for regularly.

We went for the ala carte. Got ayam kampung berlada, terung berlada, siput masak lemak, telur dadar, ulam, sirap selasih, cendol kampung, teh tarik and teh o. Food was pre cooked. Fast serv after ordering. Food was average. Authentic? Sort of. Siput masak lemak was salty. Ayam kampung and terung were ok. Good portion of nasi. Teh tarik kampung (that was stated in the menu), not so kampung taste. Serve in a small kopitiam cup, smaller than the usual. Pricy. For a RM5++ teh tarik, they can do better. Overall, if you are ok with the pricey price, then this place is for you. You can get better food with cheaper price, more authentic elsewhere. Ambiance is good but they need to improve on the flies trap. Flies will bug u while eating. Using chipped plate to serve customer a big NO. With the price they are charging, they need to get new plates. (There was one review with all serving were serve with chipped plates). They need to improve on staff cleaning the table. We were seated at a table that is not cleared. They cleared the table after our order were served. Understand on the lunch hour but that is not the excuse. They charge a very pricey food, have service tax etc, they need to be more efficient in clearing the table. Do i want ot go there again? If i have choices, NO.
