Ill be fair.😬😁
The environment= Yes cozy and if you're coming with a date, definitely will be a pleasant experience.
Food: Came in a group of 3 people. We ordered almost more than 5 dishes. Yes they were all delicious and yes we are all suckers for good food. Ill check later what we ate from the receipt.
Waiters: Some are noticeably non malaysians but suprisingly they are well trained. Not so well conversed in english/ malay though but sufficient to get our message across.
Price: Well its in Publika where above average price is a norm. But like i once said, if the food is delicious, its worth the price. And for the food that we ordered, we were satisfied n happy. A friend had finished nasi putih with butter chicken and after 10 minutes rest, went and ordered fish and chips🤣.
All good n pleasant news so far right owner?🤪. Ok,the next one is gonna be my peeve and i meant it deeply and im not sure how this is gona get solved.🤷🏻♂️
Its the size of the tables and their arrangements.
Size of tables: this restaurant occupies 1 lot and regular visitors of Publika knows the lots at the ground floor can be small.
There are 3 types of sections of tables in the place. The small round tables, the square ones and the combined 3 square tables for a big group.
The square tables outside: These tables are arranged quite in close proximity that when u try to get up from your seat, youll bump into the other customers seat behind you. A tall guy around 175 cm ( or more) in height like me, would surely be so uncomfortable to sit like this. Heck, even the mamak shop next door has bigger seat space. 😵💫So, sensing im gonna be uncomfortable, i suggested my frens to move indoors into the round tables section.
Found a round table and 3 of us sat there. Now check this out. This round table is so small that if u put 3 main meals at one time and 3 glasses together with the fork/ spoons container, and the 'order buzzer", you literally will not be able to put your phones on the table.
Put the phones in the pockets rite? Of course la we put the phones in our pockets. Its just to show that u won't have any space left for anything else.🤷🏻♂️
Oh remember that we ordered more than 5 meals?🤣 Try to figure out how🤣. Oh then u must say, then no need to order so much la rite? Order one by one u say? With the shop being full of other patrons orders, how long do u think we have to stay there if we had ordered in stages?🤣 Anyway, that's not how you should order food in restaurants. You will order everything one shot.
So anyway, i have to congratulate the chefs for coming up with all meals quite fast but that turned out to be a problem when the round table is small. 🫣When the lasagna came as the 4th order, I had to stop the waiter from simply putting the food at the edge of the table.Bruh. That was too close for comfort la. 🙄Like im sure u can see,you dont have space rite? Fikir la. Think brother think!😵💫 So i told the waiter to wait until we finish the other 3 main meals first.
Yeah, again the food is delicious but imagine having to rush through that experience to make space for the oncoming orders. 🤷🏻♂️
So theres the dilemma. 3 people cant sit at the big table since its for 6 people group. We cant sit at the square table outside for fearing that we will annoy the other customers behind us. The round tables cant cater numerous orders like ours. Oh yes they cant combine the round tables together since i noticed thats just how they meant their patrons to sit, ie fixed with 1 table.
Conclusion: Maybe if we want to experience the delicious food again, we just come during off peak hours. 4pm etc 🤷🏻♂️For lunch times, suffice to say, maybe not for a group of 3 who orders more.youll just feel cramp and not comfortable.
Don't get me wrong, the rest of the ambience is nice with air conditioners working great n cool. But, u know la, some patrons like me go to cozy restaurants , with delicious food , like Chef Wans cafe, Menate etc, to relax and enjoy the food . Not rushing like a shushi king bonanze promo.🤪...
Read moreSaw the outlet in SS15 many years ago, and then saw the ads in socmed lately and decided to bring my wife and son to the outlet in Publika last Saturday.
Seated outside because inside was full. Lighting was a bit poor, some passerby even accidentally kick my son's baby chair. You'd enjoy that I guess.
Ordered the salted egg chicken skin, asam pedas tetel, fish and chips, beef pizza, mockarita, and chaleo.
In terms of timeliness, not too bad, considering the queue.
The quality, and this is the gripe I had most.
Asam pedas was salty. I bet it's the result of leaving the gravy in simmer for too long.
Tartar sauce for fish and chips tasted like it was made with just mayo, lemon juice, and chopped pickles. Where are the other ingredients? Is it lazy? Is it ignorance? Idk, 2024 is the year, figure it out.
The chicken skin arrived late, and it's got tiny chicken feather attached to it still. Come on guys.
The pizza used pre-made thin crust, which was hard. The base is probably tomato puree mixed with tomato sauce...I saw slices of bell pepper in the picture, none present on ours. That's RM 30, it's daylight robbery. We couldn't finish it, packed it, still sitting in the fridge.
The mocktails -- these are the worst. They tasted weak and cheap, like boxed orange juice diluted with ice served in cocktail 🍹🍸 glasses. For 9.90 each you could go to Jaya Grocer and buy a box of Happy Vibes' Mocktails, serve as is, still better tasting, still profit.
As for the atmosphere, pick better playlist.
Bill totaled at about RM 115. We would have had a happier time for less elsewhere. RM 80 at Sushi Zanmai if we dine out, or just 2 footlong Subway sandwiches at home.
I know this sounds harsh, but I'm not overstating anything. Far from wanting to see you fail, I'm specific because I'm hoping you'd fix this for others. My son's name is Jibril, we saw the ads, you understand the excitement? I don't know if our experience is the result of restaurant hiring crews that didn't understand the concept the owners wanted to achieve, or if everything is intended, or maybe we were just unlucky. Hard to say if we'll be returning, but good...
Read moreAlhamdulillah.. Allahumma Barik. Glad to have a place where almost all the dishes have salted egg butter preparation. Most of the restaurants make their salted egg dishes too dry for our liking. We tried their Salted Egg Butter Lobster, Fish and Chips, Salted Egg Butter Prawn, Honey chicken wings, Fries and Fresh Coconut. Everything tasted scrumptious. Salted egg butter dishes go very well with steamed rice. We tried salted egg prawns with fried rice before but loved with steamed rice more. I wish they had live lobsters. They cooked the lobster beautifully but it was lacking the freshness and the texture became a bit dry. Yet we enjoyed it a lot as we never tried lobsters with salted egg butter sauce and we really wanted to try this dish. The sauce made the lobster so scrumptious that we don’t regret ordering it. The salted egg butter sauce they make is the best one I’ve ever tried in a halal certified restaurant. The honey chicken wings and the fish and chips tasted delicious too. But the show stopper is their salted egg butter sauce I must say. Would definitely visit this place to have their dishes cooked with salted egg butter.
The ambience is quite unique. Interior is dark yet pleasant (because of the lighting) and despite of being a vibrant place this place somehow feels quite peaceful and relaxing.
The staffs are well trained, well mannered, efficient and friendly which we appreciate.
Cleanliness and hygiene is maintained properly so far we have experienced.
This place feels very welcoming and comfortable to have family dinners.. perfect for dinner dates with spouse and have meet-ups with friends and relatives as this restaurant is a family friendly and of course kids friendly place. We personally love visiting this place in the evening for early dinner and every time we went there came back with satisfaction with their food, service and hospitality.
This place remains open till 12:00am and we are glad that we’ve found a family friendly place to have our late night dinner.
Would definitely revisit this place for our late night dinners and hangouts.
Highly recommend this...
