It looks as a café, generous seating and a tv inside (which is not my thing). Outside was extremely noisy, maybe due to the hosting of an event so we went inside. Service tends to be slow, took 30 min to get my dish... We ordered Lasagnas, satay and cordon bleu. Well, Lasagna were bland, no real tomato sauce prep but probably canned tomato on the side, I have eaten way better satays and cordon bleu was just not a cordon bleu. And yet it is extremely easy to cook a cordon bleu. This one was just not crispy, it was rolled , which is strange because the whole idea of cordon bleu is to get it flat so that it is crispy on the outside and juicy but not too thick inside. And the white sauce (sauce béchamel) was a disaster of boredom. We also had sweet potato fries which were too sweet. Desserts looked low quality. Overall also, too many choices on the menu. General rule from an F&B friend in my country. When the menu is too abundant, it is a sign that food is most likely bought frozen and thus of low standards. So maybe the place is good to have a (not cheap) drink, but otherwise... Just now I have read other reviews and I find pretty funny people can find the food good... Come one, this is less than average... Far less... and...
Read moreThe place and food were just okay. They were good but nothing extraordinary. Their all-time signature crispy duck wrap was tasty and delicious - something different that you will not find elsewhere. Lasagne was okay and it was served with two slices of appetizing garlic bread. There is some room for improvement for the service. We waited at the entrance near the "Please Wait Here To Be Seated" sign for at least 2 minutes before being attended to. Couple of waiters just passed us without even acknowledging we were standing there, until we had to ask someone whether we can just sit at the tables by ourselves. Food came without the cutleries. The waiter just served our food and just left without even noticed that we didn't have any cutleries on the table. Basic things like this should not happen to a restaurant as big as The Social. Ordering was done via virtual menu/QR Code scan. The layout of the menu looks like a cheap restaurant's menu. The pictures are decent but do not impress. Please bring back physical menu where all the items have some description and everything is on 1 or 2 big pages. Navigating through the menu is not as user-friendly as...
Read moreI would say the food was a 7/10, the food was alright however the price did not justify the quality and taste of the food. You could get the same quality from a food truck. But okay, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, so I would guess the service might be better. I was never so wrong... The restaurant had complimentary water service where they'll refill the glasses of water for you however, they took 10 minutes to refill the glasses after I asked them and the restaurant wasn't even busy! The food we ordered, pasta and nachos took over half and hour to come! This was not only for us it was the same for the table next to us. Even after telling the servers the service was less than adequate, we were short of 10 cents for the bill as I did the read the bill properly but they still had the nerve to come back to our table to ask for the 10cents.. if I were to give 2 words to summarise my experience it would...
