Kaki Corner was once “the place” for Western food more than 20 years ago when they started by the road side in Taman Billion over looking the Cheras roundabout ….. They started strong & was once highly popular with students and young working adults offering affordable popular western dishes like chicken chop, burgers, with extra large mugs of fresh fruit juices all at affordable mass pricing. Back to the present, they have moved into proper shops and have expanded their premises into two lots and renovated the place. The offer remains the same but menu has expanded. Still offering western dishes & fresh fruit juices but prices are no longer pocket friendly as it used to be. That’s understandable considering the high inflation but then the food quality has deteriorated although I must say the portion remains almost the same. Either my taste buds have changed over the years or the chef has changed. Somehow the taste was no longer memorable and it was just another chicken chop with brown sauce which was on the salty side. Service was ok, inside seating was cool & comfy. But food somehow now seems mediocre but prices are much higher ….. more than Rm20 per portion of chicken chop with fries ! Well, at these prices there are plenty of places offering much better...
Read moreOverall is so-so. Why? I will list them below:
The western food is quite delicious but the price is slightly higher than other places. The food can be found at other restaurant with lower price. I expect to get some food that might not be offered at other places. Ok, I admit myself too picky, my fault. (Minus 0 marks for this restaurant)
I ordered a drink of very large size but they only provide one straw. Is the large drink is not shareable or for environment protection? Hmmm... (Minus 0.5 star)
They do not provide tableware (spoon, fork, knife, and etc.) before our food is served. Only a set of tableware is provide for each food when the food is served. So my friend was not able to have a try on my food when his food is not yet served. Note that the time serving interval is quite long, 15 minutes. My friend has to wait for 15 minutes after my food is served. (Minus 0.5 star)
Since the food is slightly expensive, I expected the restaurant to allow customers to pay the bill in cashless ways. However, they told me that I must pay in cash only. I was forced to borrow cash from my friend to settle it. (Minus 1 star)
In conclusion, I will not bring my friends to go there anymore as the restaurant is not mindful enough to...
Read moreLove the chicken chop but their price rates are very responsive to the market. It used to be the best affordable chops and steak in KL and tasty too. But its getting expensive but can't blame them. Blame the goverment lo. Only the r able to control the pricing does the commodity price always on the rise or fluctuate why are the end product going one way street? And out salary stagnant? Where we live = failed state? Can anybody see the future? Besides that this is one of the best place for chill and EPL on big screen. And the jumbo drinks are just as satisfying. You can order a jumbo and watch 2 matches there. Carpark is a nuisance. And is carpark a sitting or a carpark understand that the owner trying to create comfortable spaces for the diner and maximize profit. And people accepted the idea the business concept but why call it a parking then? Call it an outdoor sitting slot better then make the owner pay for it. This way no spill over i mean the neighbour business wants more table over their "territory" as well right? Vibration from MRT can be felt sitting on a toilet bowl foreseeable...
