Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting the dessert bar at Sik Thong Ba, and it was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. The variety and quality of food on offer was remarkable, blending savory delights with exquisite desserts, making it a unique dining spot.
I started with the Chicken Popcorn, and it was the perfect appetizer – crispy, flavorful, and wonderfully seasoned. The bite-sized pieces were light yet satisfying, setting the stage for the rest of the meal. Following that, I had the Teriyaki Saba Poke Bowl with Wasabi Lime sauce. The fresh saba (mackerel) paired beautifully with the poke bowl ingredients, and the wasabi lime sauce added a tangy, spicy kick that took the dish to the next level. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion was just right.
For dessert, I tried the Longan Tofu and the Black Sesame Ice Beancurd – both were extraordinary. The Longan Tofu was refreshingly light, with a delicate sweetness that paired perfectly with the fruity longan flavor. Meanwhile, the Black Sesame Ice Beancurd was rich, creamy, and indulgent, offering a distinct sesame flavor that made it truly stand out. It was the perfect way to end the meal.

Read moreIf you’re a fan of traditional Malaysian desserts, Sik Thong Ba in Cheras is a hidden gem you have to check out! I recently visited and was absolutely blown away by their bubur cha cha and sweet potato dessert.
The bubur cha cha was perfectly done – rich coconut milk, generous portions of yam, sweet potato, and chewy sago pearls. Every spoonful was creamy, fragrant, and comforting – just like how grandma used to make it!
Their sweet potato dessert was equally impressive. Served warm, it had a smooth, naturally sweet broth that really brought out the flavor of the sweet potatoes. It was hearty, nourishing, and not overly sweet – a rare balance that’s hard to find these days.
The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy – a great spot for winding down with something sweet after a meal.
Highly recommend Sik Thong Ba if you're looking for authentic, satisfying local desserts in Cheras. Will definitely be coming...
