Food is great, but service left a bitter taste in my mouth. Made my booking over the phone on 8/2/23 for dinner on 11/2/23 and was assured that the reservations had been made. I even requested the window seat. Upon arriving and waiting to be seated for more than a minute, while there were no other patrons waiting in line, the hostess could not find my reservations. These kinds of things happen sometimes, although very disappointing, it's understandable.
The hostess gave my partner and I the menu and walked away but failed to mention that the kitchen was busy and it would take a whole 45 - 50 mins for them to prepare the food. Only when we were ready to order did she find the moment appropriate to inform us of this. If I had known before that, I would have still had time to decide on another less busy dining outlet. She promised that they would provide bread while we waited (the bread never came).
I asked if I were to order the cheese platter, could they send it out earlier while we waited for the other dishes. But no, apparently slicing some cheeses and plating it with some dried fruit was a 40 min task and thus they could not accommodate my request.
During the dining experience:
Perhaps, the saddest part of the night was when I was apologized to for the service shortfall_ by the trainee. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it's the place of the trainee to face the blunt of the complaints of disappointed patrons. It should be the outlet manager/asst. manager/supervisor that should be apologizing. Coming from the service background myself, I felt really bad for the boy and understood what it's like when your seniors "throw you under the bus." Nevertheless; the trainee (Jason), was very nice and did his best to try to rescue my dinner. 5 gold stars to Jason.
Overall, although the food was fantastic, but the entire experience was plagued by horrendous service. I don't know if I'd ever come back. 5-star food, 1-star independent...
Read moreI recently dined at Nizza Restaurant in Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara and it was an unforgettable culinary experience. The evening began with a delightful amuse-bouche of cauliflower panna cotta with turkey chorizo, accompanied by garlic bread and quinoa, setting the tone for a fantastic meal. The free-flowing focaccia with pesto oil was a lovely touch, adding a burst of flavor to our dining experience.
We started with the wild rocket salad, which was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the onion rings, which turned out to be my favorite dish of the night. The onion rings were XL-sized, incredibly crunchy, and had a hint of Tabasco that elevated the taste. They were possibly the best onion rings I have ever had.
The smoked duck, a house specialty, was the star of the evening. Presented in a wooden box, the smoked duck was not only visually impressive but also delicious. The flavors were rich and smoky, making it a standout dish.
The diavola pizza was another highlight, with its perfectly baked crust and flavorful toppings. Each bite was a delightful combination of spicy and savory, making it a must-try for pizza lovers.
The service at Nizza was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and vigilant, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Their professionalism and warmth added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience.
Overall, Nizza Restaurant offers a perfect blend of exceptional food, impeccable service, and a luxurious ambiance. It's a bit pricey, but worth every sen for the quality and experience you receive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience.
