Short version: Laüt provides high-quality seafood and warm service in a lovely chilled-out atmosphere - you won't regret coming! Personally recommend the OG lobster roll, fish burger, and fresh oysters. A+ service from Shaun and Batu.

Long version:

Came here for a Friday date night, and was served an absolute TREAT. We ordered:

• [9/10] 6 large oysters; 3 French for RM20 each, 3 Japanese for RM18 each. Really fresh, and was perfect with Tabasco and their homemade dressing. • [10/10] Lobster bisque for RM20. Creamy, full of flavour, and accompanied by fluffy buns which were perfect for soaking up every last drop of that bisque. • [10/10] OG Lobster Roll for RM118: 10/10. A bit pricey, but sooooo worth it. The lobster was absolutely perfect poached, the brioche bun was crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and it was served with clarified butter to drizzle over that made this lobster roll a meal to die for. • [9/10] Fish burger for RM35. Very large, thick, and juicy piece of fish, again served with perfectly toasted brioche buns like the lobster roll. Our waiter Shaun explained that the burger on this occasion was made with grouper fish, but it varied from day to day depending on the freshness of fish they had (they use the freshest one for the burger).

By the time we were done with the mains, we had absolutely no space left for dessert - even though Shaun kindly gave us a slice of chocolate cake on the house to apologise on behalf of some patrons who were smoking near us.

Must also highlight - the service here is absolutely fantastic. All the staff are warm, easy-going, and able to strike up a conversation with diners. This contributes to the lovely atmosphere - despite being a roadside restaurant with primarily outdoor seating, it feels very cool (because there are lots of air purifiers and fans all around) and laid-back (on account of well-placed roofs and barriers).

Overall: 10/10 experience, will definitely return!

Honourable mention: Was very happy that - unlike many restaurants at this price point which only serve Aqua Panna water or bottled water at a ridiculous price - they serve bottomless filtered water for only RM1 each. This was pretty important because you tend to get thirsty when eating a rich seafood...

Environment Situated at T JUNCTION. lots of car passing around with noise and air pollution. This place isn't suitable for f&b tbh..

Food Order fish and chips which is not oo bad, condiments were fantastic esp the mushy peas. However the fish isn't fresh and the coconut oil taste was quite strong

Oyster - price mot listed on menu and we have to walk and to the counter and pick. The staff manning the counter was busy with his phone. No tag of the name of oyster and price display. And when the STAFF finally bother to entertain me, he started off with saying THIS IS THE CHEAP OYSTER. So cheap that one piece cost rm 18. But I don't think he meant to insult me.. His English just bad that I don't even have any clue what he says about each type of the oysters. Blame the management.

And the price on the menu after different from the actual price. We found out because when we tried to order perirer water which was listed 9rm on the menu and we were told it cost 15 rm or so.....

Though we were told on the price differences.. But this is agaient the law.

So please. If anyone plan to go to this restaurant.. Please check every single price...

Super disappointing.

I would also dispute if these are all genuine reviews. It’s always empty yet so many weekly reviews.

Ordered sashimi (ice cold), sweet potatoes fries, sambal fish, large bowl of clams, tea, ‘fresh orange’.

I asked for black tea and got a cup of watery hot milk (even tho I stated no milk and it was repeated back to me). I asked for all the food to come together and it was reconfirmed back to me it would be. Only for the sashimi and fries to be brought out and nothing followed at all. The clams came and were mushy and over cooked (sauce good). No fish sambal until a further 10 mins later, so we didn’t eat together. I asked the lady is the orange fresh, she said yes only to be brought concentrated orange juice then dispute I didn’t ask if it’s freshly squeezed !?! Fresh is fresh fyi so don’t try and con people. It was only when I pressed the staff they then said it’s not fresh.

We live next door in twy and won’t ever be coming back.

All round a disaster from service to food. I’ve never seen anybody eating here (we were the only couple tonight), now I know why.

I asked for the service charge to be removed as it...

Background Laut establishes itself as a straightforward, casual seafood destination, prioritising fresh offerings over atmospheric refinement. Its identity is built around accessible maritime fare in a relaxed, open-air environment. Ambience The predominantly alfresco setup features basic tables, chairs, and patio umbrellas. The stripped-down aesthetic prioritises function over form. Service The service was good, and the staff was attentive. Orders arrived at a sensible time, and drinks were refilled when needed. While not spectacular, the service met expectations for a casual seafood meal. Food/Drink The menu leans heavily on lobster but diversifies with commendable alternatives. The taco impresses with its juicy, robust flavours. Seafood pasta arrives perfectly al dente, packed with satisfying depth. Corn proves forgettable. Fish and chips exceed expectations with crispy batter, surprisingly tasty mushy peas, and well-executed tartar sauce. Overall Laut is a good place for no-frills seafood where outdoor dining and flavour matter more than fine decor or perfect presentation. It hits high on the comfort food scale

Heard so much about the lobster rolls that I had to try them. Arrived after the lunch crowd. Ordered the butter Og lobster roll, a fish tacos and a fish burger. The lobster roll of 100g was big on bread but small on taste and lobster portion. The lobster was not enough to spread on such a sized bread and was very salty too. For the price, should be more generous. The lobster dumpling was an absolute disappointment. Hardly any lobster or none at all that I could tell in 3 out of 4 dumplings I ate. Overly salty sauce overpowered the sweetness of lobster (if any) and skin was a tad too thick too. The fish tacos was also salty but quite nice when eaten with the vege filling. The fish burger was salty and slightly fishy. The coffee was a bit burnt, or perhaps their roast was different. Expected more but was disappointed. Feels like eating in Jaya Grocer but with Unique Seafood prices.
