I was planning to oragnize an event at Majapahit, so i decided to first come here to check out the space, test the food, and speak to the manager.
On whatsapp, i would say not super responsive but also not exactly ignoring me (but enough for me to not mengamuk). Manager that i spoke to wasn't around when i was there but he did asked his staff to show me around to see if the event is doable.
Arcoris has parking in the building (chargeable). There is another way to access Arcoris from behind, the parking entrance is beside Ooak Suites. (Ooak is on your right, and Acroris is beside Ooak on the right). Make a uturn when you see Ooak, and there is a P sign to the basement. It's kinda hard to spot so go slowly. Reason i gave this option is because the front way is always jam due to the traffic light.
The space looks doable. Next is to try the food. Food arrived super fast, in 10-15mins and it was served.
Hot English Breafast (rm14); Ahmed Tea brand.
Coconut Butter Chicken (rm29); lukewarm, taste is meh.
Vietnamese Grilled Sugar Cane Prawn (rm20); nice but only 3 piece.
Fish Fillet with Thai Sauce (rm20); lukewarm, taste not bad.
The food was not great but i guess boleh la. Comes the event day, it wasn't exactly like how i planned it, cause some of the seating was too far behind to see the teacher in front but we make do i guess.
The painting session did go pretty okay, there's laughter etc. Towards almost the end of the painting session, the staff only decided to turn on the light and everyone went wooooo. Who knew the lights actually can be "bright", we could barely see what we draw as the day gets late/dark.
Our group is big about 30 of us, we needed to sit separately as they dont have enough space to accomodate all of us (kinda like a L shape but not connected).
Food this time tasted much better than the first time i came. Phewww :)
Manager came to say hi, asked if he could take pics of the event, i said you let me use your space for free, of course i won't say no :). They let us use their space for free for our painting session, but we did order drinks during the session so it's not totally free but i extremely appreciate the gesture.
Overall i am pretty satisfy with the outcome of the...
Read more8 of us went there for lunch yesterday on a Wednesday. 4 of us arrived few minutes earlier than the rest so our orders were taken separately. Had to wait for about 45 minutes for the first 4 sets to arrive and to top it off food was cold. Choked down our food as we were rushing for time. The rest of the 4 sets didnt make it to the table as we had to leave back to work even after close to an hour of waiting. Horrible service when asked for status of food the answer is always will check or coming but hey 4 of the dishes didnt make it out. Thing is 7 of us ordered the butter chicken lunch set which we believe is not hard to make evidently the first 3 sets were served cold so we doubt it was made from scratch so for the other to take forever is truly unacceptable. When asked for the bill they had the cheek to charge us for 8 sets! Asked for the manager but no one showed up. Sent the receipt back and they decided to charge us for 7 sets again goes back the receipt. Finally the correct bill of 4 sets arrived. The whole ordeal of just paying the bill took 10 or 15 minutes. If you are going to charge for service tax make sure you provide a reasonable service. There was not even one single sorry that came from anybody. Setting all that aside the food which actually arrived apart from being served cold was only ok taste wise. Nothing special so even if we didnt have a bad experience we still would think the meal was not worth the money paid. Didnt get the whole fusion concept. I have never written bad reviews even when i have issues with the place but this experience was just truly horrendous that I just felt the need to leave a comment. Hopefully it was a one off bad day but I personally will never come again nor recommend this...
Read moreMajapahit brings a twist to Asian food blended by the many cultures of which the kingdom brought in as part of their conquest in their hay days.
If you have a dinner to host catering to a plethora of South East Asian cuisines such as Malaysian, Thai, Balinese or Indonesian, this restaurant should ideally be a great choice.
The Majapahit restaurant is located in the much sought after location Mont Kiara, amidst / next to malls and condominiums. Majapahit is not difficult to find as it is situated on the main road, next to 163 Retail Park (mall).
It is really spacious and can easily seat more than one hundred patrons. The ambience is classy and spacious. Lighting is adjusted perfectly.
The display of the dishes looks enticing but the downside to this is, the restaurant re-heats the dishes before serving.
They are not buffett setting as such, but placed as that. You have to instruct the server the dishes that interest you and they will portion it out and send over to the kitchen.
Thus, for some dishes, the taste, texture and flavour of food dips in quality versus ala carte ones on the menu where the kitchen staff will cook upon placing of the order. We had close to 12 dishes and amongst the better dishes as part of recommendations are the known butter chicken, beef rendang and the chicken wings platter.
Rest are average. The Nasi Liwet lacks that oomph.
Service wise, can be far better. Whilst they are good, they hardly warm up to their guests with the most welcome or needed extra small talks, recommendations and banter.
Overall, it is an intersting experience and a good place to host but I would probably go again perhaps after 6 months. Not my go-to...
