We arrived for an early dinner on a Friday evening and were fortunate to find parking nearby; there were several available spots that day. This family-run roadside stall is situated right in front of their terrace house, where tables and chairs are set up on the porch area. However, the cleanliness standards were subpar, even for a roadside stall, and the environment was quite warm.
Our order included Pork Rib Noodle, Char Siew Wantan Noodle, Noodle with Wantan only, Curry Noodle, Prawn Wantan Noodle, and three pieces of Soup Dumplings for three adults and one child, all in small portions. In total, we had five noodle dishes with dumplings, which came to RM52.10. The portion sizes were standard, and the prices remained reasonable.
In general, we were content with the taste of all the dishes we sampled. The wantan noodles were perfectly cooked and had a delightful old-school flavour. The pork rib was rich in flavour, and the regular wantan and prawn wantan were also quite good. The dumplings were decent, and the curry noodle was enjoyable. On the downside, the pickled green chilli was so-so, as it was too sour and overripe.
If you can overlook the less-than-clean and warm environment, this place is worth a try if you happen to be in the area. Parking may depend on luck, as it can be easier on some days and more...
Read moreTheir (most likely taucu-based) pork ribs (separately ordered) is actually great, and there’s a lot more meat than bones per piece.
Their chicken rice that’s drizzled with the sauce the pork ribs are simmered in is alright, they seem to only have white rice instead of fragrant rice we’ve come to be associated with chicken rice.
Didn’t try their curry but according to both my dad and uncle they’re tasty, and the curry seems to be on the thicker side too. They do seem to only use the wantan noodles for their curry laksa, which is fair considering their signature.
Personally wouldn’t recommend eating their mushrooms and any side soups that comes with other main dishes if you’re allergic to prawns in particular because they seem to use the same soup base to cook their...
Read moreThe noodle and wanton sold here is quite good. Noodle texture is al dente and wanton filling is nicely seasoned.
Nowadays, they are also open for business in the morning, after 10am. The stall is family operated, the 2 cousins taking turn to operate the stall for morning and night. I was here this morning, I find that the char siew (bbq meat) is pretty thinly sliced. Stalls operator should be more considerate with food portions, especially nowadays, most merchants and food operators have raised their prices for goods and services. Paid RM 7.50 for a dried wanton noodle but doesn't fill the stomach 🙄
The wanton noodle used to smell so aromatic with pork lard, but recently this special aroma that makes me come back each...
