We came at 2+pm and quite a number of their signature food and drinks such as nasi lemak, dry curry chicken mee, coffee and tea had sold out. But the lady boss was really friendly and suggested other food to us. We tried their old kopitiam mushroom bread, curry chee cheong fun, mini kaya butter buns and iced chocolate. Loved the mushroom bread which, according to the lady boss, was made of homemade patty and sauce sandwiches between black sesame buns. It was good. The mini kaya butter buns came toasty and warm - was yummy too! We felt that the chee cheong fun could be more flavorful, the lady boss was very attentive and checked on us to see if the flavor was enough, after we commented she added some thick curry to it and suggested we add some soy sauce to make it more flavorful. The iced chocolate was super rich and creamy, tasted like milo dinosaur. Overall we enjoyed the food and the service made us feel very welcomed. Will definitely...
Read moreHave been patronising this place often, almost once every week for breakfast. Parking in the morning is ok as most of the other shops is not open. It is open as early as 7am and one of the few with comfortable and relaxing cafe (due to the music they play) to be in for breakfasts. Most of the time have been ordering their Hailam Toast bread, its good, kaya not overly sweet and good amount of butter slice (not margerin). Only that the "toast-ness" is inconsistent, sometimes over toast, sometimes its good. Coffee is ok. Curry puff similar to Ikea's curry puff. Price is quite reasonable. Service is quite good, quite attentive , acknowledge and greet good morning. Decided to write a review as one of the kind gesture this morning due to one unpleasant experience which by the way not at all the cafe fault or the staff fault, the owner was very kind and was very apologetic and even extend service recovery. Recommended and worth visiting if...
Read moreSurprised to find it was still crowded at 3pm. Its a normal size kopitiam. Interior was ok. We came for tea and were disappointed. Tried the toast set, which consisted of toasted sesame bun with 2 half boiled eggs and a drink. Price differs depending on the choice of drinks but that was not stated in the menu. My mocha ended up with RM2 extra and lacked coffee taste. The toasted buns and chicken ham & egg sandwich toast are not crisp toasts as I would prefer. They were mildy toasted. The worse was the half boiled eggs. Of course i was not expecting 'onsen' eggs but there were part of uncooked egg whites. What more can you expect from a kopitiam if they cannot cooked a half boiled egg properly. Coffee was just okay for me. Giving a 3 stars for...
