Updated: Back here and now satisfied with the quality and attentiveness of service. Excellent hot chocolate, yummy complimentary bread with olive oil and vinegar. Wagyu burger (medium) was so balanced and loved the crisps. Truffle mushroom pizza was surprisingly decadent thanks to the quality cheese. I’m very happy this time with my husband on his birthday. I’m glad he is happy.

Previously: We’ve always been to Paul. Our favourite must order is the Paul Hot Chocolate but this time it’s diluted. It is supposed to be extremely thick that it coats the madeleine. At first it was sour, we sent it back and it came back better but still it was diluted. They offered complimentary bread with olive oil and vinegar. The vinegar was just pure sour. We ordered Eggs Benedict with Smoke Salmon. It was really pretty but I was surprised the hollandaise sauce lack taste, the egg taste overpowered the sauce instead. Disappointed because it was bland. Thank God the toast was perfect. No comment on the smoked salmon. Shepherd’s pie was good but we were not asked if we wanted fries or salad. They served salad anyway. I know Paul’s side salad has always been perfect when I ordered Wagyu Burger in Pavilion last time. This is the first time I’m not finishing my salad. It was just too sour. Seasoning today is totally not on point :( Cafe Medici was alright. I can tell in Pavilion, even if I ordered something I don’t have high expectations of (Chicken Roulade) it always turns out pleasant because it’s edible good. But this time I think I can’t say the same. Please taste your food or check...

[2nd visit - Aug 2024] by invitation Complimentary bread and oil+vinegar - fresh and dense (not airy nothingness) bread slices ❤️❤️

RM18 Hot chocolate - love the texture ❤️❤️ but still lack in flavour and has a dry aftertaste

RM50 Truffle beef burger - patty is a bit dry but not too bad, good truffle flavour but lacks any other flavour ❤️❤️ but the highlight is the crispy wedges, absolutely divine ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This time the wait staff team were very attentive. Thank you for making an effort.

[1st visit - July 2024] Complimentary mini baguettes - it’s so hard & tough, it’s not edible 😳

RM35 Cafe/Tea Surprise set:

Hot chocolate - the texture is almost like the one I’ve tried in Europe, but the taste is definitely not 😳

Soft chocolate cake - this is not the definition of soft, it’s flaky on the outside and dense on the inside 😳

Crème brûlée - thick caramelised sugar topping 😳

Macaroons - this has been left out for too long, it is chewy 😳

Only 3 tables out of 15 were occupied. After I’ve finished my food, and pushed everything away, but no one came to clear it 🤯 Is this the new norm? Even the Chinese restaurant I went earlier, cleared my table when I was done. After an hour, they’ve finally...

Their level of service & food quality has been going downhill steadily. Watermelon juice is diluted even though it’s stated as pure freshly squeezed juice in the menu. Chicken pie - chunky plain steamed chicken with a few pieces of carrots & onions in it ; tasteless. Service - when we asked for ketchup & chilli sauce for the fries , we were given 2 bottles that were almost empty. (They used to serve the ketchup on a small plate). When the waiter saw us struggling to pour the sauce out from the near empty bottle , he muttered & took the bottle away. We thought that he would have the good sense to bring us another bottle. But nope, he never came back ! 🤷‍♀️ A fortnight ago , we were here too. We ordered soups - minestrone was too salty & thick , like a broth ; onion soup was served in a bread bowl which totally soaked up the thick soup , such that there was hardly any soup , only soggy bread 😵‍💫 Definitely striking this place off our...

Went there with my friends and we enjoyed our time there. Paul is situated on the ground floor and is pretty well designed and comfortable. We had a cafe latte, and coffee crème brûlée and a hot chocolate. The 3 drinks were really good. I really enjoyed the hot chocolate as it was thick and tasty, like I used to enjoy them back in France. For pastries, we had a chocolate eclair which was good and a vanilla millefeuille. Now although it was good, it is only one layer of cream instead of 2 so I felt a bit cheated. The taste was good, nothing wrong with it, just not like a typical French millefeuille and it's layers of puff pastry and cream but it was still tasty. I will come back there as it was an enjoyable experience.
