Q Bistro Taman Melati is pretty much what you'd expect if you've been to other Q Bistro branches or your regular mamak place. They're consistent with their food and drinks, which is a big plus! I always go for their teh tarik and rojak, seriously good. Their roti canai and nasi kandar are also top-notch.
My only little gripe with the nasi kandar is that the rice portion feels a tad smaller compared to some other mamaks around.
It's definitely a good spot if you've got kids. My daughter loves their roti canai and chocolate milkshake, so that's a win! They've got a decent selection for the little ones.
Price-wise, it's a little bit on the higher side compared to your average mamak.
Inside can get pretty packed, so if you prefer a bit more space, the outside area might be better. Service is quick though, can't fault them on that. The waiters are efficient, but a smile wouldn't hurt to make them seem a bit more welcoming!
The washroom was clean, which is always a bonus. Just a heads up, it's a shared one for both men and women. Maybe the place isn't big enough for separate ones.
Muslims looking to pray might need to head to the petrol station nearby as there's no surau here.
Parking is usually easy in the mornings, but I can imagine it gets tricky during office hours. You'll need to use the parking app to pay, and from what I remember, it's not too pricey.
They do have electrical sockets if you need to plug in your laptop and get some work done, and they offer free WiFi. Sadly, the WiFi connection was pretty terrible when I was there.
Overall, it's a decent spot for reliable mamak fare, especially if you're a fan of their classics. Just be prepared for slightly higher prices and potentially crowded...
Read moreHonestly, Q Bistro has been my go-to mamak spot near the house for ages. Food’s always solid – whether it’s their nasi lemak, roti canai, or mee goreng mamak, they get the flavours right. And the best part? It’s consistently clean, quick, and the staff are friendly. I usually come by with the family or tapau on busy nights – never had a bad experience.
Saw some reviews from people nitpicking over the smallest things, like “mee goreng no limau nipis” or “had to wait 10 minutes.” Like bro, it’s a mamak, not a fine-dining Michelin experience. Chill. For what you pay, the food and service here are more than fair.
What I really appreciate though is the staff. They’ve always been super helpful with my orders – even during busy times like Ramadhan, they helped me make a reservation without any fuss. And sometimes I’ll request a special drink that’s not even on the menu, and they’ll still try their best to make it for me with a smile. Not everyone would do that, especially in a fast-paced mamak setting.
Honestly, Q Bistro bosses, if you reading this, you guys should really appreciate your team more – bagi bonus ke masa Hari Raya, or maybe a year-end team holiday or company makan-makan. These are the kind of staff you want to keep – yang layan customer with patience and care.
All in all, Q Bistro is solid. Good food, good people, and a reliable spot for everyday meals. Don’t let the fussy reviews put you off – go try it yourself. Tak jumpa parking, park la jauh skit then jalan. Kalau ada orang tua / oku, drop them off kat depan, then u pergi la cari parking. Later habis makan pick them up...
Read moreA slightly upgraded mamak, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but honestly, the place is super clean and the atmosphere is really relaxed. It’s the kind of spot where you can actually sit back, eat, and chill without feeling rushed or crowded.
Tried the sup kambing mamak, the soup was thick, rich, and full of flavour. Really good, but they only gave about 6 or 7 pieces of meat. Wish there were a few more, but still satisfying overall.
The cheese naan was a pleasant surprise too. It had a mild cheese taste, not the kind that gets too heavy or overwhelming. Plus, the dal curry they served with it was pretty decent, thick and tasty.
Also had the nasi goreng kampung. Honestly, it didn’t really have that strong kampung flavour I was hoping for. And there were way too many onions, it kind of took over the whole dish. The fried chicken, though, was a winner, had it with nasi putih with some bean sprouts and kuah banjir + bendi and lada hijau. It came out hot and crispy, just the way it should be. Definitely the highlight of the meal.
Overall, such a great place if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable spot to hang out. The food isn’t perfect across the board, but some dishes really hit the mark. Definitely will...
