I've been here for three visits. Here are my thoughts as of today:

TLDR: Some food is decent, most menu is so-so / slow, sloppy service despite training waiters for months(?)

Food-wise, there isn't much to comment on. The quality of the food ranges depending on what you order ; I heard the Lei Cha was great! Unfortunately, by the time I came on my third visit to try it , they were out of stock ( without marking the menu ). That aside, the rest of the food is alright. I have yet to try the coffee.

Unfortunately for this place, the bad service is holding it back. On my second visit around May of this year, I ordered Vietnamese handrolls. I ( wrongfully ) assumed that, as an appetiser and having no cooking time needed, it wouldn't take very long to prepare... I waited an hour for it to finally arrive! And by that time, my hunger ( which was driving me insane during the duration of the wait ) had already dissipated. Imagine losing your appetite because you'd been waiting too long... I checked with the waiter 3 times within that hour, and each time she promised me my food was being prepared... Despite us arriving early at 12pm, it took us until 2pm to have every dish delivered to our table. I'll give grace for this because it happened all the way in May, and I hoped that service would improve by the time I returned.

On the third visit ( today ); I came into this restaurant as a last resort for deciding lunch. Thank goodness, the food was served in 17 minutes this time. I did note, though, that the mains ( which I thought would take longer to prep ) arrived before the seaweed roll I ordered... The ginger mushroom noodle was so-so. There is nothing special about it at all. At the end of the meal, my mum ordered a slice of cake from the display which we were sitting next to. I watched as the waitress asked another girl to take the slice out of the display and placed it on the counter, presumably for the first girl to bring it to us.

Anyway, that cake has been sitting out on the counter for about 5 minutes before another server had to remind our waitress to bring the cake to us. I was astonished... we were sitting right next to the display. Imagine how long our cake could have been sitting out in the open, prone to melting or contamination if the waitress never remembered.

Reading some of these other reviews ( and the owner's replies ) , it seems that the service crew had been this inexperienced even though months had passed since the opening & my first visit. The boss lady genuinely seems like a friendly person, though, and I can sympathise a little with the huge crowd they deal with. However, until the service crew finally buckles up, I cannot see this restaurant grow any further as a business.

I look forward to seeing...

Today, the first day of lunar month and also celebrating the very first day of the Vegitarian God Festival and supossedly to be a pleasant day to spend with family. Since you have a beautiful restaurant and thus all of us (about 20pax) are very much willing to support your restaurant .

However, all this has become impossible because of the work of one ill hearted person. Your manager must have thought that she is so brilliant to settle a plan by putting 8 of us indoor and the rest of the party (another 12 pax) outdoor. In another words, her action is so inconsiderate and try to split our party into two. This is so irritating and not acceptable and we have therefore cancel our reservation.

I would surely hope the management should look into this as you have employed a person that not thinking straight to mange your restaurant. So much that we loved you restaurant simply but I cant tolerate with this kind of mentality and give it a miss for now!

I actually wanted to put a full stop on all this nonsense. Well, since you brought it up again then I need to reply you.

You are not helping, you are not sincere at all. To make it worst, you try to justify her wrong doings.

To be honest, I know what I hear. If you really had investigated the matter you would know that she made herself clear that If we cannot afford the package then she will break our party into two. Do you think this is right?

Again, please don't find anymore excuses. What is wrong is always wrong, You will only make it worst, no matter how you want to patch up. I don't know, may be you also believe that this is the right way to treat your customers and conduct your...

A hidden gem tucked away in an unassuming neighborhood. If you are looking for Asian vegetarian/vegan, you will not be disappointed in Red House 2. The quality of the food was top notch, and I was really blown away by the unagi, which was full of umami flavors and topped with crunchy flakes for an extra bit of texture. The Vietnamese spring rolls were also a pleasant surprise, especially considering that they were not filled with any kind of imitation meat. The delicate balance of subtle flavors, aromatics, and crunch from the fresh vegetables were the stars of the dish, with the supplemental flavor of a Thai-style dipping sauce. These were the “wow” dishes for me, but the stir fried vegetables, tofu, and mushroom karaage were also nice. As for the service and atmosphere, they were just as pleasant as the food! Our server brought everything out quickly and with a smile and pleasant attitude. The cashiers were also kind and expressed an interest about our experience. The restaurant itself is decorated in a homey-meets-chic style, and the ambience was calm and inviting. A great place for a date or meal with friends. The furry “doorwoman” was also pleasant on our way in and out! I’ll definitely be back to try the lei cha fried rice, which was the one dish that I just couldn’t find room for on this visit.

My second time here in a short span of 1 month time, 1st try was a good experience hence decided to bring my family again but 2nd try was a bump as other foods that we tried just missed the mark, slightly below average. Restaurant is located in a corner lot house, well decorated and comfortable environment for both indoor (1st visit - 2pax) and outdoor (2nd visit - 7pax). The foods that I highly recommend would be their Fried Thundertea Rice (RM22), my first take on fried leicha as usual one is soup base, very fragrant and delicious! Creative way of presenting leicha in this manner Second one would be the Braised Hericium w Radish (RM25), broth is sweet and packed with flavor, radish is showing up all the essence of the broth. Very comforting food for sure ;) Lastly would be their Vietnamese Handroll (RM15), fresh vegetables with well balanced sesame sauce. Feel free to give it a try if you are looking to find something new for your vegetarian meal ;)
