Tldr; 0/10 I would not recommend Tasty Touch Catering (TTC) as we spent RM11,000++ on wedding lunch and setup for an overpriced menu consisting of subpar quality and measly quantity, untrained staff for fine dining experience, questionable food safety and hygiene practices
I don't usually name and shame but as this was for our wedding held on 18 November, I feel it's absolutely necessary to share our unanimous feedback especially for future couples who are seeking caterers. We sought TTC's coordination as we are based abroad and did not have the opportunity to do a tasting session prior to our wedding party.
To begin, I'm thankful for the team's punctuality and efforts for their early set-up and breakdown. My family mentioned that the catering staff had already setup the necessary for our lunch ahead of time.
But the portions of the food was so little, my guests left hungry! Imagine that!! Fine dining does not need to equate to minimal food portions, it was not a tasting event whatsoever! Photo attached of entree serving
It's embarrassing as the host to hear these remarks from family and guests alike, and while the event manager did ask me at the venue if everything was okay, I did not want to show my displeasure immediately because there was no way to fix the issue since I believe the food was already prepared before it left the commercial kitchen that morning. I believe it is not the fault of Mr Daniel whom I feel tried to do his job.
While utilising so many different plates, we only had one of each entree, one skewer, one slice of bread with a small slice of salmon, the lemon chicken was tasteless and I don't know why the roasted vegetables were served separately to the meats. We were also confused why the salad was served last, since it should be together with the meal.
In terms of food safety and hygiene, my mother-in-law also noticed that the salads were left in the open from the beginning of the set-up and on a hot day, that is surely not acceptable food hygiene standards!
For 55 guests, we paid RM 125 per pax, and in total more than RM11,000 for the entire setup. I also tried to be a good customer while discussing with Ms Rina who was helpful in her work, I did not negotiate or bargain on the prices stipulated, did my best to pay the deposits on time and according to all the terms and conditions stipulated by TTC. And that's why I feel so cheated of a good meal for such a special occasion. I believed that if I just paid whatever that was asked of me, it would be reflected in the service and value.
But no, my guests left the venue hungry and I was thoroughly dissatisfied and deeply disappointed. I do not think that this should ever occur at any event, much less a wedding. If the situation was reversed, and it was a lunch for your relative's wedding, surely it would be unacceptable?!?
I must also mention that on several occasions, I had to ask for the attention of the servers to provide food and drink to my guests who arrived later than anticipated. According to the invoice, we paid for 9 staff members who are meant to assist with service. They were not trained for this 'fine dining' experience in the least.
On top of that, the people who setup the canopy on Friday decided to arrive 2 hours earlier than prearranged, for which I was able to adjust my schedule, and had first declined to setup in the garden area as we discussed on 10th November because they felt that it was not big enough. Thankfully my relative and caretaker of the venue decided to intervene and insist on my behalf since it was already agreed upon between the event manager and myself on 10th November.
I had previously asked for a representative from TTC to avail themselves during setup so that this situation may be avoided but was declined because they were occupied with another event. I'm not sure of the relationship maintained between the vendors and TTC but I feel that this incident should be made aware as it is sneaky behaviour that reflects poorly on TTC's reputation.

Read moreI acquired Tastytouch Catering service for my son’s birthday party last Saturday (22nd June 2019). It was just an afternoon tea party for 50pax. En Hafiz was assigned to handle my orders. I first messaged him on Wednesday, 19th to confirm all arrangements, and he replied (four hours later), that everything is in order. I messaged him again on Friday, 21st morning to ask on the delivery vehicle number and arrival time. No reply until that Saturday morning, after three messages and few attempt of calls. He apologised, stating that he was driving and had to handle other events. He promised the delivery will arrive at 11am to setup the tables and food. We waited until 12.30pm, but still no delivery arrived. I tried to reach En Hafiz again asking the whereabouts of his service staff. He promised to get the delivery team to call me. It was only at 12.45pm, a woman named Tiara called telling me they are stuck in traffic jam, and will arrive in 20minutes from Semenyih (Which is only 30minutes drive to my address). After 30 minutes, still no show. My guests started to arrive. I called and called En Hafiz and Ms Tiara again numerous times but no one answered. In the end, I called Ms Puga, the first person that handled my order before handed over to En Hafiz. She promised to help me contact En Hafiz and Ms Tiara for me. By the time Ms Tiara arrived, it was already 1.25pm. My guests already waiting and we have to wait again until the table and food finished setup at 2.30pm then only can we start eating.
The caterer also changed the menu without my prior knowledge. When I first asked for the price quotation from Ms Puga, I had specifically asked for the Kuih Angkoo, since it is a Chinese tradition to serve it in a birthday celebration. It was agreed and the price is quoted in my order. On the date itself, the caterer had changed it into other kuih (Kuih Ketayap) without notifying me in advance. The server in charged, couldn’t explain the reason of the change and told me to refer the matter to the office. I was already busy with my guests arrival, that I decided to deal the matter later.
When I decided to acquire their service, it is because of their claim of excellent food and service. To my disappointment, this is not the service that I expected from a “Malaysia Top Ten Caterer”. I expected a professional conduct and service. No feedback form was given. No formal apologies from the person in charged. My suppose to be happy gathering was spoiled by unnecessary stress and embarrassment because of unprofessional service. In the end, they packed up on time despite arrived late. To be fair, the food overall taste is ok. The Seafood Fried Yee Mee was bland, other than that, everything is just ok.
I do hope the caterer’s management take note on this comment and...
Read moreThis 1 star was given to Rina who help to follow up my wedding requirements. Really appreciated for her hard work.
I believed tasty touch did provide good foods (in buffet style) and service to their customers. Unfortunately, the fine dining provided by them was terrible. Allow me to use this word terrible because almost 100% of my guest attendees were complaints about their fine dining course.
From the food presentation, taste, portion was disappointed. Totally understand and agreed that fine dine portion is always small and not filled. BUT the prawn and roasted potatoes they were given was not a fine dine standard. It makes me feel like I’m paying a fine dine price but end up in buffet serving.
The presentation was like guest self taking buffet. So, when I feedback to Rina she told me the preparation room was small so they can’t provide me a good looking presentation. I wondering why don’t your team visit the place before sending me the image that I supposed to see it on my wedding reception. The soup was cold and the portion of the soup and honey dew sago was different for everyone. Some guest getting more some guest getting less.
And the most important was their hygiene issue. Use the same gloves to serve bun to my guest and after that clean the table. My friends who went toilet saw one of their staff using hand (without gloves) to place roasted potatoes plating. I CANNOT ACCEPT THIS AT ALL!
Usually I won’t simply comments or reviews in public and the reason why I’m here today was because when I feedback all these to Rina but she told me it was because the venue I rent was small..so the chef cannot provide their fine dine standard which makes me more...
