Continuing our exploring of OUG morning market, we decided to try out this restaurant which is located in the “entry point” of the morning market as it is facing the main road of the market square. It’s really easy to spot as this food place has the corner facing the market square ( hence allowing most of the outside seating just lining the main road corner). The crowd sitting out side is the main magnet of why our attention were drawn to this kopitiam. After much survey, we decided to take most foodies reviewer’s recommendations of trying out these two stalls: “Catherine and CY prawn mee” as I was drawn to their eye catching banner- prawn wanton noodles and special prawn noodles. The second stall : Claypot HK porridge which is what my wife wanted to try for this first visit. Both orders were quite fast, price friendly and portionately good. However my verdict of the prawn noodles was not much of a shouting praise, but the won ton prawns ( dumplings with whole fresh prawns) was a surprise for me. Both the soup was fabulous and the whole prawns in the won ton was very well marinated and hence the extremely fresh and mouthwatering taste. I would come back for just these but maybe next time would order the dry won ton soup with it. The porridge was excellent and taste wise must be very good as my wife finished the clay pot which dishes out almost four full bowl!!.

(11/9/22) Breakfast. Ordered :- 1) Special Prawn Mee @ RM8.50 - OK but I won't say special though. broth lacked umph & leans more on the savory side than prawn-sweetish side. A few mini shrimps and generous pork slices. 1/2 a hard boiled egg, kangkung & topped with some crispy aromatic fried shallots. Very thirsty after! MSG detected! Lady seller is nice and courteous. The same stall offers Penang Loh Mee, Penang Asam Laksa, Mee Jawa, Kai Si Ho Fun and Prawn Wanton. 2) Wanton Mee @ RM7 - Al dente noodle with juicy and succulent 8pcs of medium cut 1/2fat/lean char siew. Sauce is subtle yet tasty. Wantons are juicy albeit a tad small. Soup a little bland but good overall! 3) Hainan Tea (L) @ RM2.80+Glass of Ice (RM0.30) - aromatic and kaw! Nice! Apart from what we had, there are also stalls offering YTF+chee cheong fun - Chicken Rice & Roasts - Bittergourd,Herbs,Salted Vege,Seafood,Pork Noodle & Tomyam Seafood Noodle - Seafood+Pumpkin congee - 3JC pork ball noodle/Kampar fishball noodle - Pan Mee & Siew Chao (小炒). Coffee shop is not the airiest but doable amid a little stuffy. Cleanliness is ok.There's also patio seatings available. Padi frog congee, Hakka Chicken Rice & a different Wanton Mee stall/Traditional Taste operates in the evenings only. Parking in this area is a nightmare!

Kopitiam that offers Prawn Noodle, Pork Noodle, Porridge, Sam Kan Zhong Pork Noodle, Pan Mee, Fish Paste Noodle, Stir Fry, etc. Morning/Afternoon stalls Food: Chee Cheong Fun & Yong Tau Foo 3.5 🌟 Very nice curry. Pieces pretty big sized and quite a variety of options. My favourite is the crispy fried beancurd and normal fried beancurd that complements the curry very well. The sauce is good too, not overly sweet. Food: Prawn Wan Tan Noodle 3.75 🌟 Like this. There's 4 Wan Tan and it has lots of prawns fillings. Broth is like Ipoh Hor Fun which is prawn based with slight spiciness. Like the bunch of fried garlic on top as well. Priced at Rm 10. Wantan is priced at Rm 1.70 each. Food: Pumpkin Egg Porridge 3.75 🌟 Always sold out, come earlier than 12 😂 The porridge is not overly thick and tastes really good. ------------------------------------ Evening/Night stalls Food: Yong Tau Foo 3.25 🌟 It's okay, most varieties are fried. Unique is the water tofu I think. Can order with noodles/rice. Food: Steam Fish 3.5 🌟 Very affordable price, I remember it's around 28 to 30. The taste is quite good. Food: Wan Tan Mee 3.25 🌟
